The most difficult part in determining whether to purchase this set was understanding the vague written descriptions relative to this product such as, quality of materials, color, and construction method. The set is constructed with particle board veneers, MDF veneers, and variety of solid woods stained reddish brown in a deep cheery tone. The drawers are connected together with English dove tails in the rear and French dove tails in the front drawer face. The drawer hardware allows full extension of the drawers. Quality of materials, construction, fit, and finish is 7 to 8 on a 10 scale. The chest has 6 drawers, including the hidden drawer, not five as stated. The night stands have 3 drawers, one hidden, one small, and one large drawer, not 4 drawers as stated in the written details. The dimensions listed in the written details are close enough for you to determine whether it will meet your needs and fit in your space. Unpacking the set, installing the feet, and assembling the bed takes a few hours. A box spring is necessary for the bed. Although assembly is not difficult, it takes a bit of intuitive thinking since the instructions are only in picture form and the advisement for two people is notable. We chose standard delivery and the set came on time. We received one automated call giving us options for delivery and there was no follow-up for coordination, so make note of the day and time; no more coordination was offered. There is a considerable amount of packing materials to dispose of, so if you don't have a means to haul it off, you may want to consider the white glove option that allows for unpacking and dunnage haul off. Also note, with standard delivery, there will not be time to inspect the components so note your paper work accordingly. Our set arrived timely in good shape with only a couple of minor dents and scratches. We rate this bedroom set four stars based on the quality of materials, construction, and over-all value. The bedroom set is beautiful and we do recommend it.
