Really Like the Thermostat - Get What You Pay For.
We were looking for a thermostat that was touch screen, easy to use, easy to read, and that we could control remotely. What's even better was that this works on regular wi-fi and you don't have to utilize Z-Wave or any other 3rd party service.
INSTALLATION: I thought it was easy. However, that's going to depend on your comfort level. Just make sure the wires are properly mapped to the correct terminals. I just had to push them into the hole and they locked into place. Once I had the wires installed onto the mounting plate, I just secured it to the wall where the original thermostat was located. I pushed the thermostat onto the plate and it turned on. Best part was a setup wizard started and guided me through step-by-step programming.
MAKE SURE...
You need to have a "Common" wire that will supply the electricity to your thermostat. This model does not take batteries. I did have to go to the furnace and connect the common wire so the thermostat has power. Helps when you have a friend who is an HVAC contractor and can give you advice on the phone.
PRICE: Okay...almost $*** bucks for a thermostat that has a bunch of bells and whistles that essentially performs the same basic functions as a $** one. We work hard for a living, and didn't mind splurging a bit for, of all things, a really cool thermostat. Considering all of the R&D that went into making it work so easily, the higher price is appropriate.
OVERALL: We love it. VERY EASY to use / understand. VERY EASY to setup to control with a smartphone. Really cool that we can change to different color themes. I would certainly recommend this purchase.
