Apparently Great Offer Stock asks customers to answer questions and I'm glad to in this case. I'm pretty sure it's a solid piece. I was afraid to wash my king sized comforter but I did wash it in my not heavy duty washing machine. I stuffed it in, but I washed it in hot water - TWICE in a row just to be sure the soap rinsed well. I put it in the dryer and when I put it on the bed it still looked PERFECT. I love this lofty yet lightweight comforter and I do recommend it.
