HOT! This comforter is advertised as lightweight and the actual weight of the blanket is light, however the synthetic material it is made from is very hot! It seems hotter than a lightweight down comforter. We have removed it from our bed and may try again in the winter but it is not going to be used any time soon since it is just about summer.

A double would probably cover a twin mattress and box spring and frame, but would not go close to the floor, as far as I can tell.

We bought it in white for my college daughter's dorm room. It did not come with pillow cases, and since we just got the white one I didn't worry about matching pillow cases to it. I don't know whether you could buy cases from the same manufacturer or not, sorry to say.
