I have a few pros and cons for this piece. Depending on where you want to use it and how often it might work for you. FIRST- cons: - It arrived damaged. I know this isn't Overstock's fault, but makes me wonder about the quality of the piece. It was packaged really well and very padded, but one side of the round top was completely smashed in. It revealed that the top was a wood or particle board as the smash left chipped pieces and exposed a few layers beneath the paint. I just wonder how well this table top would hold up to real life considering the damage. It also looked like if you did ever get a chip in the paint finish, it would cause more to chip off and expose the brown wood underneath. Not attractive. - The base seemed a little uncomfortable for sitting. I don't think there's any way around this, but with the round disc on the floor as the base, you always have to rest your feet on the base itself. It was just a little weird to me. It is aluminum so would wipe up feet prints easily though. Pros: - It has a good look and a great price for what you get - It has an aluminum base instead of a plastic one so it is definitely sturdier than some of the other tables like this out there. With that said, I will note that there was still a little wobble when I pressed on one side. I think this is unpreventable considering the top is larger than the base, but you probably wouldn't want to lean your weight against one side if you have food or other items on the table. - The lacquered finish is a clean white and very shiny- it has a very pretty look. I had mine next to a window and you could see the reflection from outside. There was one small bubble I could feel on the surface and I was worried if I tried to pick at it, it would leave a chip in the top, so I left it alone. I think it's a good finish, but it's just not perfectly smooth like glass if that's what you're hoping for (which I think would be impossible without a very high end lacquer and higher $$ anyway). -Assembly was SUPER easy. I am a 5'6" woman and I did it myself with no problems lifting any pieces, etc. - The bottom of the base has a plastic sort of seal around the entire edge. This was perfect for wood or even tile floors so the table doesn't slide around. It stays put pretty well. * Overall, you be the judge. I didn't end up keeping it because the dent/smash in the top made me decide against it. I would rather pay a little more than have a chipped up or smashed in thin wood top table in the future. BUT, if this is what you can afford and you want the look of a modern tulip version table, I do think this is a good price for what you get.
I paired this table with the Lippa dining chairs to create a kind of retro dinette for an alcove area in my kitchen. It worked perfect for my space. The table is high quality, very solid and sturdy with an easy to clean top. Plus, it’s easy to assemble.
This table paired perfectly with our white lacquer and acrylic chairs
Love this table! High quality materials and modern Mid-Century tulip design. Table arrived quickly and was easy to set-up. Heavy base adds substance.
I purchased this table several months ago, along with other furniture including the chairs. Also purchased the protection plan. I just opened and had both table and chairs assembled. I loved the entire set, it is perfect. Being seniors, we paid for assembly. I have loved this style for 40 years and always wanted a room it would fit and just finished one for retirement. The price was outstanding. I want to give it five stars, but unfortunately, the edge of the table was damaged--about four inches scraped and wood is showing. I go online and see I am passed time to return the table, which I do not want to do anyway. I see the table is no longer in stock. I do have the protection plan. I have paid for assembly and would need to pay for repackaging, etc. Not sure what my options are, but please help me keep my table. I just need the top portion.
I received this table pretty quickly. It is a good size table for 4-6 people, if you use smaller chairs. I like the contemporary look and I loved the price.
This table is round, despite incorrect description! Arrived quickly. Very easy to assemble and looks great! It is very sturdy and of good quality. Great look for the price.
Very heavy and the perfect size for seating 4. I would consider this an excellent value.
I looked around a lot for this type of pedestal table. Only negative so far is it seems fairly easy to scratch the top. Have female guests be careful with those purses that have metal on them.
The setup was different than the assembly instructions. the attachment of the post to the top plate was set up to use 3 hex key screws, which were shipped in the holes in the post. However two of them were so tight in the threaded holes I stripped the hex key and had to use pliers to unscrew them and then screw them back in, destroying the screw head in the process. In the end, I was only able to use 2 of the 3 screws to secure the post to the top plate.
Do NOT buy this table. I was so determined that I would be happy with my purchase, but I received THREE damaged tables instead. It’s a good table, but not worth the headache.
Sturdy, pretty, and well priced for the style
Nice Table. Sturdy and strong.
Arrived with a dent in the top. Was too lazy to return, though. Very pretty but often wobbles. You get what you pay for.
