This rug is absolutely gorgeous BUT I have some concerns about it. If you were to use this in a room with no traffic, just to add dimension and texture to your design, it would be perfect. I purchased this rug for my family room, we have dogs and children and it was not the rug for us. Here's why...super hard to maintain...DON'T plan on vacuuming this rug, the hand-knotted design won't allow for it. So if you have pets or kids that will leave it messy and in need of a cleaning, think twice. It's a rug that is designed to be "shook out"...but try shaking out an 8X10 rug on a weekly basis...not happening! Also, the little knots come un-done. I wanted to love this rug so bad, it is really, really pretty. But for the price, I just expected more. I believe the quality of this rug is less than fabulous. I ended up returning the rug (Overstock was AMAZING with my return process, it was easy, they were very kind, I give them 5 Stars for customer service!!!). I just wanted to write an honest review so that no one would make the same mistake I did. Also...I have a baby who is about to be mobile and I wouldn't consider this soft enough for her to crawl around on. It's not as thick as I would have liked, it's honestly just not ideal if you are using it in a space that you actually use. In a vacation home, or maybe in a 2nd living room that is not used...great. In a high traffic family room situation, NO! Hope this helps! And again, huge Thank You to Great Offer Stock for their assistance in the return process, I'm going to search for something of better quality now, that is more family friendly.
UPDATE: I love this rug. I have changed the star rating from 1 star to 5 stars. The rug was rugged and stood up to pets and everyday life. I loved it so much I purchased another on just like it in a different size 8x10 - and it came true to size. The color is wonderful, the texture if fantastic, and all in all it is a great rug. Original Review: I do love this rug... it is a nice rug for the price. In general I do prefer a thicker, wool rug.. this rug is on the thin side so I purchased a nice rugpad. With the thick rug pad, this rug does feel thicker and more luxurious than it would on its own. It is a combo jute/cotton rug, the cotton adds a bit of softness and the texture is conservative but still has character. It is the main rug in my small apartment - in the living room. So why a one star rating? Because the rug is not 8 x 8. My rug is 8' x 7'4"... I think this is is a quality control issue. I could handle it if it was a few inches shorter.. but this is a full 8 inches shorter on one side. It is not as advertised. If I had known that the dimensions were this off, I would have ordered a 7x9 rug. Because the rug is so short on one side, it does not fit well in my living room (its shorter than the couch).. I want to return it.. every day I walk into my apartment I'm reminded how much I now hate this rug... solely due to the size.. I don't want to spend more money on another rug... nor do I have the energy to deal with Great Offer Stock and the return process. So here I am, stuck with a rug that is way too short and makes my already small apartment living room look even smaller.
We ordered this rug in 10x14 for our livingroom, which has dark (Jacobean with a touch of espresso) wood floors and crisp white walls. The rug is incredible! The color skews a beautiful gold that really makes the space. We have two little ones under three, so I was apprehensive about whether jute would be too rough and while this isn't as soft as a pure wool rug, my boys seem completely happy walking and crawling on it. The light puffy rows you see in the pic are thenwool rows. The pattern is fluffy wool row, small tight jute row, large loose jute row (sized like the wool), small tight jute row and then repeating. I'm very happy to have a rug that is beautiful and won't off gas. My rug did not have any pulls but I will admit that the knotting looks like it might be susceptible to pulls- I will update my review of the rug doesn't hold. One more note, at the time I'm writing this, the description says this rug is 0.75 inches thick. It isn't. A couple of the loose wool tufts MAY stand up to that thickness but on the whole I'd say it's more like half an inch. It still looks very substantial.
I was looking for a neutral pattern that would still complement my color scheme. The hallway I put this runner in is painted a neutral greyish color (Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter), and I wanted a rug that would kind of pop, but also blend in. This fit the bill perfectly. It has an interesting pattern to look at, but it's not overbearing at all. Also, since it's abstract it would probably work with a lot of different decorating styles. It's a lot nicer looking in person than online, and it feels great underfoot. The colors complement each other really well and when you walk on it, it feels like a much more expensive and quality rug. It's heavier than I expected, which turns out to be a great thing because that helps it lay flat. I did get a rug pad though, so it doesn't slide around. If you are concerned about pile height, be warned that it is rather high. If you have doors that will open out onto the rug, this might not be the rug for you. Most doors won't be able to open smoothly over this rug, but if you have an inch or more of space at the bottom of your door then this may work for you. I like it so much that I'm going to buy a second one of these for another hallway.
If I could give this rug more stars, I would!!!! I love this rug. I like Safavieh rugs, and have purchased them in the past. I find them well made and they hold up well against multiple dogs and kids. This rug is no exception. First, it looks fabulous. The color is probably more blue than I anticipated, but it's more grey-blue, so it still worked for me. It's pretty thick, well made, and you know it's going to wear well. I put it in the hall out to our garage, where we get a lot of foot traffic, and it's held up very well. It looks really nice on my grey/gold/white ceramic tile floor, and a great addition to my more rustic style. But I could see it working in pretty much any style of home. The only con, and I only mention it because it may matter to some people, is that you can't wash it. It has to be professionally cleaned. It does hide dirt well, though!! Again, I LOVE this rug and actually bought it in another size for the bath off the same hall. Would totally recommend it. But remember to get the rug pad!
I absolutely love this rug. I wanted something Jute-like, but not as rough, and this is perfect. I wouldn't call it soft, but it isn't as rough as typical jute rugs, and the knotty texture feels nice on the feet. The alternating color of the lighter wool and the jute knots adds such a beautiful texture to my room. We have it over a wood floor and it does shift and bunch easily as another reviewer mentioned, but we bought a rug pad, so I hope that helps. Also, it does shed a little - not as much as another 100% wool rug that I have, but it does shed a little. I vacuum with the carpet setting (where the brush spins) and haven't had any issues with pulling. Overall I'm very happy with this rug and my guests compliment it!
I purchased this Safavieh “Ramona” hand-knotted jute/wool rug in the rust color for my front porch. It is well made and so soft. It lays flat and I plan to gently shake it to clean. The size 2’x3’ is perfect for my front door. I would purchase this rug again.
The rug arrived promptly, is very well made, and looks gorgeous. My wife and I wanted a lightly rug that could work well in our living room. We have a light couch, so we were concerned a lighter rug might blend in and we were not interested in any significant patterns (oriental, chevron, etc.), so we decided to explore rugs with interesting textures. The rug has a dense hemp ply that alternates with a lighter wooly feeling weave. We were a little concerned about the texture, but after reading many reviews of similar rugs (same company, different colors & sizes, which Great Offer Stock lists on separate pages), we decided to give it a shot. It feels wonderful on our feet. It's a little scratchy against softer skin, but on bare feet, it's like a dream! After owning it for two weeks, there are two small drawbacks to address. There is a musty smell when you first open the rug from the package, which dissipated after about 10 days. I'm sure some Febreeze would have helped reduce the smell, but it only bothered me and my wife did not notice the odor. We're also noticing a bit of shedding/pilling already from the wooly part of the rug. It comes off in small clumps of nearly invisible hairs and is quite easy to clean. All around, this is a fantastic rug and an even better deal (we saw it retailing for $800+). Buy this puppy with confidence!
Sophisticated, understated wool & jute rug. I love the style and feel of this rug. The New Zealand wool makes it softer and thicker, which is a real plus. Looks fantastic in our dining area. Thanks, Overstock!!
We've had this rug for a while and the wear/ tear on it has been great. We have two kids and we had elderly pets (cat and dog) when it was new. Yes, there were a few snags, but nothing unexpected. It's surprisingly soft and hides a multitude of sins. It even cleans up well, my son spilled a bunch of red juice on it one day and a little rug cleaner and water and my eight year old was able to clean it right up. It vacuums easily too. We love it so much, we just bought a bigger one for our bedroom. The picture is our actual real life, forgive our mess, and the crooked rug pad :).
I love these rugs. I bought a small one to check out the quality. I was so pleased that I ordered four more. They have a heavy texture that makes them quite suitable for my extremely contemporary house. I could also see them in a more rustic or cottage setting. The rugs are quite thick, well made, and beautiful. I am using them with a hand knotted expensive oriental rug and they fit right in. They don't compete with my patterned rug but don't look cheap with it at all. The woven colors of grey, blue, and a little beige have and overall color that works with my warm grey tile floor. Because of the heavy texture they are not soft or plushy but certainly are not scratchy either. We walk on them with bare feet with no problem.
I purchased this for my living room. I also purchased the (Supreme Felted Dual Surface Rug Pad) to go underneath. Very comfortable and soft. Looks like a jute and wool mix rug. The "wool" loops are not as white or cream colored as the picture shows but more of a tan/khaki color. However, they have not shed. The rug is good quality and appears that it should hold-up for some time. The texture is great for the look I wanted for my beach house. Because this is a chunky rug, I would not suggest it for under a dining room table or any area that you are moving furniture over frequently.
I did not know what to expect when ordering this Safavieh rug. Over the last four years, we have ordered 5 medium to extra large Safavieh rugs from Great Offer Stock and have had good results with most of them. This rug has to be our favorite, even though it is only 5x8. The rust is more of a red and it is woven along side a hemp white. It is thicker than any other Hemp rug we natural fiber and we love it for that reason. No odors to speak of, no dirt, just a beautiful red rug that stays put without any need for a pad. Love this wonderful rug. Don't hesitate to order it. Best buy yet from Great Offer Stock.
So I just wasn't sure what a "chunky hemp rug" would feel like under my feet. Turns out it feels amazing. The rug is truly "chunky" only because the weave is heavy, but the material is SOFT and smooth. The result is a rug that feels like something between a plush flatweave and a reflexology mat. Granted, I put a rug pad underneath, which I would highly recommend, but even if you didn't this rug would feel nice. Personally, I don't think the color is well represented in this picture. The picture makes it look as though the purple is faded and more "tonal". In fact, there is a strong lavender/crocus (I know that doesn't make sense, I'm trying here!) type of purple that is woven throughout the rug. The effect is similar from afar, but the purple is quite noticeable up close, which I don't think is a bad thing. It's in my guest bedroom now. I could see it being wonderful for a girl's room or for any grown-up room. I guess I wouldn't put it in a kitchen or dining room because I would imagine this weave catches and traps crumbs like crazy.
God bless the reviewer who wrote about the gray and beige rug. The reviewer wrote that the rug is more greenish yellow than beige. Perfect for me; yellow-ish fits into my decor. And yellow-beige it is. The gray is an iron gray, not a soft gray. The iron gray does have a bluish hue in certain light. Some reviewers have said the rug they received was falling apart. Not so for my order. It’s in impeccable condition. Some have written the rug isn’t soft. The rug is not plush so perhaps that’s what was meant. It’s comfortable under foot, tho be aware it does have varying gradations because of its weave. The wool gives the jute just enough pliability for comfort. I plan to order another one just like this one, different size; hoping the dye lot is the same.
Bought this rug from O stock and bought another one (same brand, Savavieh) from Wayfair and I can say that this one from Great Offer Stock is much better when jute material is mixed with wool and cotton overall because the other one that is plain jute is horrible so my recommendation is to buy this rug instead and not one that is plain jute else you will end up with splitting and holes in the rug, from my experience and based from other reviews. This rug holds up and is stylish. Also, I would not run a robot vac due to clearance/thickness but run one around it setting mapping barriers and just run a regular vacuum once a month with no spinning brushes to pick up stuff. Also it doesn’t hurt to get a rug pad to put underneath.
I was having a difficult time finding an interesting rug in a square shape in this size. They are not very common and many are quite plain and only one color. I love that this rug not only has an interesting texture, but also a really neutral color combination which works beautifully with our contemporary style furnishings. We paired it with charcoal grey leather love seats and a black coffee table. The rug has a natural earthy vibe so works well as a transitional piece and I suspect it would look great with rustic or country style decor as well. The one we received had a strong natural aroma to it which took quite some time to dissipate. We hung it outside on a couple sunny warm days and that seemed to help. For the price it was worth it. Definitely happy with this purchase and the rug looks much more expensive than it was!
This rug arrived in perfect condition. I was surprised by how true to color the pictures were. This is a very high quality jute rug and the soft jute used does not create dust like the raw jute rugs we have purchased in the past.
Love the looks of this rug under my table. It is soft! Don't confuse this rug with others that look similar. Any rug with wool will shed awhile. I've had numerous quality wool rugs and it is a natural process. It will go away eventually. True to color. A bit of a smell at first. Just spray it down with Febreeze as needed. Works well! Love it!
I like the mix of the wool and jute. It is very soft and seems to be durable!
