This was a perfect coffee table to go with our brown leather couch. Not too big so it doesn’t take up a lot of space in the room. Just the right size and height for drinks, books, etc. Easy to assemble. And actually higher quality material than I expected for the price.

Love it! The table is solid and extremely well made, with natural irregularities in the repurposed wood. We had the round one from Pottery Barn. I wanted a second one in a rectangular shape for an adjacent room and went looking. Was thrilled to find them here, and ordered this one, which fits nicely in our not-big house. Love the height of these tables for casual eating. And the sale prices at Great Offer Stock are excellent. Don’t hesitate to get this table.

Table is sturdy and heavy wood, unlike other tables we were looking at with thin top. I only worry that it may stain if liquids get on it so we need to remember to use coasters.

Questions & Answers

  • Q:

"Does the bottom shelf jut out farther than the top shelf? Want to buy this table but afraid it will be too dark. Anyone have more pictures?"

    • A:

the length of the top and bottom are equal. This table is very well made and sturdy. The pictures from Great Offer Stock are accurate with the color. It's a great table.

  • Q:

"Does the bottom shelf jut out farther than the top shelf? Want to buy this table but so afraid it will be too dark! Anyone have more pictures?"

  • Q:

"Do you have end tables to match "

    • A:

Yes I do. I have two different sizes. They're great.

    • A:

      Yes they do. Two styles

    • A:

Yes, I have two matching end tables

  • Q:

    "How much does it weigh?"

    • A:

The coffee table weighs 86 pounds.

  • Q:

    "What color is the metal?"

    • A:

Black. Love this coffee table! I couldn't be happier with my purchase

    • A:

I would say black. Could pass for espresso.

    • A:

I purchased this table a month or two ago. the metal is a matte black. I love the table!!!

  • Q:

"Is the edge of this table flat or at an angle? I'm considering buying 2 of them and butting them up against one another. It would only work if the edge is flat. Thank you."

    • A:

The tables are flat however the wood is not necessarily uniform due to its rustic look which is lovely. You may be ok putting them together but it would depend on the individual tables.

    • A:

The edges themselves are flat however

    • A:

I bought 2 as well, and placed them together, making a square in the center of my living room. It's beautiful. The tables are very rustic anyway, so the tiny crevice that shows between the tables is no more prominent than the rest of the planks on the surface of the tables. I highly recommend them! They are heavy and they look great, and I don't feel bad putting my feet up on them!

    • A:

      Yes, the edge is flat.

  • Q:

"How much does this table weigh ?"

    • A:

This table weighs about 83 pounds.

  • Q:

"I'm interested in purchasing this table. Could you tell me what type of reclaimed wood this table is made out of? Oak? Pine?"

    • A:

I honestly don't know. It doesnt look like oak. I would guess it could be pine. But, it has nice solid thick pieces of relaimed wood. I am very happy with the quality and look of the piece.

    • A:

I'm pretty sure it's pine (or almost always going to be pine) and that most of it is imitation reclaimed (wood that starts out as new lumber and then through the miracle of chemicals and drubbing from machinery begins to look old). But its quality is still there.

    • A:

It appears to be manufactured and not actually reclaimed wood.

    • A:

I don't know if it is manufactured but it looks nice. I believe it is pine.

  • Q:

"I am looking for a brown to dark brown finish, I am concerned as some folks have called it gray, what is the color."

    • A:

It is a medium brown color with ashy gray undertones.

    • A:

Mine is dark brown !! Loving this table!!

    • A:

As with anything else, the perceived color can depend on lighting. On mine, when daylight hits it and I look at it and I look at it at an angle opposite the window, it will look lighter and grayer. But make no mistake it is medium to dark brown and will look that way most of the time.

    • A:

I agree with other answer it is more a lighter to medium brown with gray understones. If you are looking for dark brown I would not recommend. Although I love the table.

    • A:

My table is stained a dark brown. It is so sturdy and looks rustic. I absolutely love it!

    • A:

      definitely a dark brown

    • A:

The table is not gray. It is a light to dark brown and is beautiful and very well made.

  • Q:

"Is the wood truly reclaimed? I saw reviews that it looked plastic. Thank you"

    • A:

It's hard to tell sometimes what is reclaimed and what isn't. But this is a beautiful table and absolutely thick chunky rustic wood. Love it!!!

    • A:

It's definitely wood and I wouldn't describe the shortcomings of the look as "plastic". Quite contrary to what is written here in the product description, the flyer that comes with it says some of the wood is new, some is reclaimed. All the wood is rough hewn, less finished giving a reclaimed look. It's pretty clear they've sent it through machinery to make it look more distressed. In places, I feel like the stain differential between the veins / heartwood / sapwood is a bit much. They should have used a pretreating conditioner before staining. Feels like a lot of the wood or all of it is pine which is really problematic with respect to uneven stain absorption when a conditioner is not used. I get this is a reclaimed look, but when you just apply stain to pine you can get a rustic "see I made this in my garage" look. I'm probably keeping mine but now the gauntlet is thrown and I plan to use wood bleach, oxy acid and other treatments to get it a better look.

    • A:

It is definitely real wood (exceptionally heavy and thick), and mine is almost certainly reclaimed; it has a rough and uneven surface that adds a ton of character. This piece is perfect for a rustic/iindustrial decor theme.

  • Q:

"Can the lower shelf boards be cut to be shorter? Does it come fully assembled or can the lower boards be removed temporarily? I think this would look better aestheticall yif the lower boards were not quite as wide as the top boards. (and then re-stained / re-finished on the cut edges - that part I can do). I don't own it yet so can't see for myself. I don't think I could cut them easily and straight while still in place."

    • A:

The lower shelf cannot be made shorter because the legs bolt into it. You would have to find a way to support the legs if you made the lower shelf shorter.

    • A:

Thx Linda R - but they appear to overhang two inches or more -- you're saying I couldn't at least cut say 1.5" off each end? I get they are needed for structural reasons, but they're not doing anything where they overhang (all I have to go on is the photo!).

    • A:

It is as long as the top but more narrow and I think it looks good as is.

    • A:

But yes you could cut 2 inches off each end

    • A:

Right, to each their own. The lower boards are not as thick, and, sitting inside the legs, the lower shelving is not as wide, so for proportion and scale they should not be as long either (is my thinking). Google image search "two shelf coffee table" and you will see examples of each approach.

  • Q:

"Has anybody had any luck lightening the finish with conventional finish strippers? Even a little lightening might work in my case, and I'm thinking because it's distressed finish it doesn't have to be perfect. Flat surface means easy to do in theory. I just want to get it a bit lighter."

    • A:

I'm not experienced with refinishing furniture but because you mentioned a "flat" surface, I wanted to let you know it is definitely not flat. I am really happy with the look of this piece, but the individual boards raise up just a little higher than others around them. This looks to be intentional and it makes the table interesting. But may not be the flat you're looking for.

    • A:

Thx. They are not "smooth" but they are "flat". :) They are not smooth because made of rustic / reclaimed / unfinished wood (or an attempt to emulate). Some of the photos make it look they are using plain-old rough-finished pine. All I meant by flat is it's simple horizontal surfaces to which to apply stripper - no complicated moldings / carvings etc.

  • Q:

"What is the measurement between the bottom and table top? I want to buy baskets to put on the bottom shelf and want to make sure I buy one's that are not too tall."

    • A:

The distance between the bottom and table top is approximately 11.5 inches high.

  • Q:

"I'm thinking to buy this table but the reviews are scaring me. They say it's darker than pictured. In the picture it is also more grey tones than warm tones. Is the color indeed towards grey/black or does it have warmer wood tones in it? "

    • A:

The table is reclaimed brown wood. It is more warm brown than grey/black. There may be flecks of black/grey but mostly it is brown rustic wood. It is quite lovely.

    • A:

I just bought this table in which it arrived today. I assembled it in no time at all and it looks awesome. My buddy poped in and asked me to trade him. Lol. It's solI'd and great looking. Jerry

    • A:

Tones are going to vary some w/ their simulated reclaimed lumber. Mine was pretty dark. Like walnut not ebony though if that means anything to you.

  • Q:

"What is the best way to clean his table, Pledge or just water?"

    • A:

This item is recommended to be wiped cleaned with a dry cloth.

  • Q:

"Is the only difference between this table and item #17684994 the size? This item says 42x24x18, while the other is 48x32x18."

    • A:

      Yes, just the size.

  • Q:

"Will the site be getting more of these in stock soon?"

    • A:

If you would like to be notified when these come back into stock, please provide your email address in the box provided on the product page.

  • Q:

"Is there a finish coat on it? We have small kids and am wondering if it would show scratches and wear."

    • A:

This table does not have a finish on it. It's more of a stained wood, that has no shiney clearcoat finish on it. It's very rustic and full of character already, fresh out of the box. Water circles or other stains, will only give this table even more character. It would be great for kids.

    • A:

I disagree somewhat. It's is definitely not without sheen as you'd get with just stain alone. It has a lustre. It beads water. I believe it has some kind of lightcoat of clear finish, though it's probably just a satin poly or varnish.

  • Q:

"Why are the matching end tables so much more expensive than the coffee table? "

    • A:

The matching end tables under item number 17511853 and 17481783 currently cost less than this coffee table. Sorry for any confusion.

  • Q:

"Is the finish on the legs black or really dark brown?"

    • A:

Hello Lisa J., the legs are black. Thanks for shopping with us!

    • A:

The table comes unassembled and the legs are fairly simple in construction. They would be easy to get to a dark brown with metal spray paint if you know what you are doing.
