Bought the floor lamp and have same issue with the metal it is made out of. It is a cheap hollow bendable metal. Don't let kids touch that bird or it might break off. Pretty though.
This is the most beautiful and well made lamp I have ever owned. The lamp base and shade are oval in shape not round as I thought. It is of a substantial size and throws a soft but strong light using a 150 watt bulb. The base is not clear as the description states, but is a gorgeous, gorgeous translucent champagne color. The shade looks to be of high quality as well and has champagne and grey markings strewn throughout. Even the on/off switch is substantial and made of metal and not cheap plastic. I have never spent this much money on a lamp, but am glad I did!
I bought this lamp for a small reading nook table. The size is perfect and I love the metal design. The shade doesn't sit perfectly on the lamp so it wobbles around a bit so I give this lamp 4 stars.
the lamp is beautiful but arrived damaged -- the plastic bulb socket was broken -- i replaced it with a metal socket
