The Madera is inspired from a turn of the century, French high end metal bed. Constructed of carbon steel for strong support and long life, the 52-inch headboard and 34-inch footboard have spindles throughout and a top rail that curves downward. The Madera features (3) two-toned, brass plated circular designs with intricate castings in each panel to provide rich detail. The unique, 4-step, rustic green finish is the final touch to make this bedroom piece the perfect backdrop for any master suite or guestroom.Features:

A:
There is a center support but it does not go from top to bottom. There are two cross supports that run the width of the bed frame; one about a foot away from the foot board and second about a foot away from the headboard. A center support runs lengthwise between these two width supports. Not sure how much more support you would need for a split queen box spring.
