The rug was not as described. Very thick and rough. It had came as an open package with a cut in it. I contacted Great Offer Stock and they had UPS come pick it up.

It looks nice and had no smell, but it does not appear to be very durable. we have had it for about two weeks, and have had to re-weave the fibers a few times already. I expect it will need to be replaced before long, but the price was low enough that I am not surprised. it was not purchased for the long haul.

I really like the look of this rug, but it does seem to just keep shedding little fibers all over creation. I think in the future I will just stick to seagrass when I want a natural look underfoot.

Hello ganesh75, scrim backing is a soft, gauze-like material that is made from cotton. You can most certainly walk on it. But it is a very light weight material, and therefore is not very durable. A non-skid pad is recommended. Thank you for shopping with us!

It has been bleached to create the color, but we do not use any harmful chemicals in this process. It is safe for households with children and pets. This rug is recommended for use in dry areas since it is constructed with natural fibers. This rug has a cotton scrim backing that has been applied with latex glue.
