The Book Thief
One of the absolute best books I have ever read. Fantastic, unexpected narrator, beautifully written and a good snapshot of WWII from the perspective of a German family (and mainly, the narrator and a young German girl) as the country falls under the frightening spell of Hitler. Easy to read, hard to put down, impossible to forget.
