Not as firm as the one I bought in previous years I bought the Serta 2 in foam pad for my queen size bed. I had purchased one from the same company about 5 years ago and decided to replace it. This one is not as firm it's kind of squishy it's just not as good quality as the one I bought in the years past. Spent *** on something that doesn't help my back at all so now I have to purchase something else.

In my opinion I don't think it will give you the plush feeling and relieve aches and pains. I have had several memory foam toppers of different thicknesses- 2", 3" and 4" . My favorite and the most effective was the 4 inch one. But now our new mattress is so high that we had too use a 3" one and its passable. The 2" wasn't good for us and we put that one on a mattress in our guest bedroom as we did not find it to do what we had experienced with our 4" topper. Just my opinion.

My husband and I love this. Yes your husband should be able to feel a difference. The great thing is, it bounces back into the original shape once you get up. I do flip it and rotate it every couple of months. I find it is really helpful for my aches and pains, sore back and hip. Glad we got it!

I too am 125 lbs. Bought this as my new mattress was too stiff. It helped to soften the bed so I could sleep comfortably, however, if you are looking for something you can sink into I would recommend getting a thicker topper. Otherwise, this 2" one worked for me.

This is a great topper and it will make your stuff mattress feel softer, but I would also recommend a thicker topper if you want to really sink into your mattress. This was very stinky upon opening, I would highly recommend airing it out on top of cardboard in another room for about a week before using, if you lay it on top of any other material, i.e. bedding, it will make that stink also.

I am also 125 lbs, but a side sleeper. This topper provided just the right supportive 'sink' and contouring for me. I combined it with the Croscill 400 Thread Count Pima Cotton Mattress Pad, also from Great Offer Stock, that gave some protection and a bit of plushness that complemented the contouring properties of the memory foam topper. Very pleased with both purchases. Keep in mind that memory foam does have a break-in period and will soften up over a period of about 30 days of use, making it even more comfortable.

This is a great memory foam topper. It can go on top of a mattress that may need a bit more cushioning. Yes, it can also go under a mattress pad. I purchased the waterproof mattress pad. I love the memory foam toppers for all of my beds. This one was a great buy and very durable foam.

Yes you can put this under a mattress pad as long as the pockets on the pad are deep enough. If you get 600+ TC sheets, however, you would not need a mattress pad. I stopped buying mattress pads and started buying the higher TC sheets.

We love this topper! We've tried several and have this on two beds a queen and a full! We are in our late fifties and we're waking up achy! We now wake up wo an ache or pain ..refreshed..I wish it came in Twin size! And I always put my toppers under a mattrest pad!

Here's our current set up.. we have a modern platform style bed with a firm mattress. On top of the mattress is this memory foam and on top of the memory foam is a feather bed topper.. and on top of all of that is a fitted sheet style cover that holds everything in place and of course on top of all that we have our sheets, blanket and us. I fluff up the feather topper every time I change the sheets and about 1x a month I remove the feather topper completely for a few hours to let the foam air out and reshape itself. We love the set up. This foam is the best I've purchased in a while since it's actually memory foam and has a decent density.

Yes, we use the 2" foam topper on our queen sleeper sofa, but remove before folding up sofa. It takes a bit of practice, but we roll it up, then carefully fold in half, storing in a very large hard plastic bin with a top. With two of us doing this together, we have had no issues with pad tearing. Just be careful and take your time. My family loves the extra foam pad for comfortable sleeping.

Not sure exactly what your question is, but I bought one of these toppers about a month ago and there was only a slight smell when first opened. We didn't even need to "air it out".. we put it right on the bed the first night no problem!

I bought one in April, 2016 and didn't have a problem with smell at all. I just recently bought another one for my 21 year old granddaughter that I haven't given to her yet to know her thoughts on it. I have loved mine from Day 1 and have had no negative experiences at all with it.

I have purchased 3 king size 2" Serta toppers and they are amazing. I was told that 2" is perfect as any thicker and you sink in, this 2" helps alleviate bone pain by keeping a real cushion between the topper and the mattress. Good luck with your purchase, hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

I bought this one for my daughter and its very comfortable. I have the 3 inch one. I still wake up with lower back pain but not as much as I did from when I didn't have it. I weigh 130lbs and sometimes after a few weeks I have to switch to the other side of the bed to get that support again. I personally don't think it will support his weight. You may need a firmer one. I believe the 4 inch one may be a little firmer. Also try changing the pillow To help with the back.

No one can say for sure what would work best for your husband but since he is a big man, I think he would get more help from at least a 3 if not 4 inch topper. I weigh 150 lbs. and my weight compresses the foam. I think more inches might give him more support. I also got the topper for generalized body pain. The topper does help but I can only lay down about 5 hours at a time. You can always ask questions at the Serta site and maybe they can be more helpful.

I cant see using this on a futon in the way you want. It is 4 pounds per inch as stated and it gets firm when cold but I'm thinking what you are wanting would be a regular piece of foam to add stiffness when you are SITTING...if you are looking to make the futon mattress a bit firmer for sleeping then this could work but if you wanting the futon to be firmer as you sit then i would go with a regular piece of foam used in upholstery.

I too sleep like a baby with the additional comfort that the extra 2 inch foam cover offers. Regarding other complaints of "overwhelming chemical smell", I cover it with a mattress pad so this is not an issue.
