This "media center", or book shelf, as I use it, is pretty much exactly what you'd expect for the price. It's not the sort of thing you want to display in a house full of expensive couches, wide-screen TVs, Monet paintings, caged tigers etc. But for a residence that wants to feel simple and down to earth, it works quite well. Granted, the white plastic ties along the edge make it feel a little less "natural", but they aren't that noticeable anyway.
The one complaint I have with it is that it was difficult to put together. The holes in the sides don't match up with the pegs. If you have a ready supply of brute force and colorful language, it comes together quite nicely in the end.
I'd buy another, probably, because I like bamboo as a sustainable resource, and because I like my residence to feel "not quite urban-chic". I disagree with the term "exotic" though.
