I don't know how durable it would be for everyday, hardcore use, but it works well for me as a cross-training device. I haven't previously owned a rowing machine, but the resistance is enough even at the lower settings to provide a satisfying workout. I was able to assemble it by myself, though the last step in the instructions is not clear. The seat squeaks (even after only a few uses), but it isn't obnoxious. The cushion would likely get uncomfortable with a workout longer than 60 minutes. Ultimately, I am happy with this purchase.
