So, this might be the most important review I ever write for Great Offer Stock, so please bear with this, as it's going to be rather long. To do it right, I have to say a few things about my situation. Age, 54. Weight, 275 lbs. I have arthritis, some nerve damage, and venous issues. So, way too heavy, and definitely not in the best of shape.
I bought this bike because 1. It's recumbent. Which is nice for my arthritic hips and ankles. It also makes it much easier to get on and off of it, because it sits lower to the ground. 2. Its weight limit is 300 lbs. I'm under that, but not under the weight limit on bikes not quite as well made as this one. 3. Price. I'm disabled, which means I don't have a lot of money, and I got a nice deal on this, thanks to Great Offer Stock. 4. I hate walking outside in heat or cold, and I can now exercise in my home without worrying about heat stroke, or falling on ice and breaking something.
I did worry about getting it together. I saw the review from the other older, disabled lady, who had had trouble getting it put together, and had said she'd come back and tell us if she got it put together, but never did, or wasn't able to. So I was a little nervous about that.
Here's the deal. It's NOT that hard to put together, but it is. That is to say, it is not complicated, if you follow the directions carefully, ESPECIALLY as regards getting the pedals on properly. However, if you're like me and have some physical problems, it will be much better if you get some help. It's hard to get out of the box, and some parts are very heavy. Some of the positions you have to assume to secure nuts and bolts are awkward. All in all, it took me a few days to get this together on my own. It will go much faster if you have two people--one to tighten, one to hold. You will also want a better philips screwdriver than the one provided, especially for the shallower screws. But I did manage to get it together on my own.
It's together now, the seat's adjusted, the drink cup holder is in place, the computer is in place, and...I LOVE this bike! It's comfortable. It's quiet. It moves around easily, as the front bar has little rollers on it. It's solid. I don't feel like I'm over burdening it by using it. It has a great little computer program so you can increase or decrease difficulty. I can see using this bike for a very long time, and hopefully enjoying better health and (hopefully!) a lowered weight thanks to using it! Thanks Overstock!
