Hello kim, this spa cannot be placed on sand. It should be placed on a solid, level, unbroken concrete foundation. The bottom is closed, but not “sealed. There is a secure covering on the bottom of the spa. Unfortunately we do not have a photo of the underside. Thank you for shopping with us!
