The Disc-O-Bed is one of those brilliant ideas that is so simple in concept you wonder why somebody didn't think of it before now. The framework for each bunk comes in sections and is packed neatly in its own carrying case, together with the flexible fabric "platform" that is the actual sleeping surface, and any extras that may have been included (such as the handy pockets that attach by Velcro, and leg extensions that provide more head room for the person on the bottom bunk). The individual sections of each frame are powder-coated steel that should last for several lifetimes, and after you've set it up once or twice it only takes a few minutes to assemble. This item comes in two widths: Large and XL, so be sure to confirm which size you need before placing your order. The length is the same for both sizes, and my guess is that someone six-feet-plus would be very comfortable on this generously-sized bunk. The polyester fabric used for the sleeping surface and the pockets is extremely good quality, and though I can't know for certain I believe it will be very durable. The pockets are well thought-out, with various sizes and closures; some are made of netting so contents can be viewed at a glance. And for those of you who are hunters the long sleeve on the bottom will accommodate a rifle of just about any size and length, keeping it dry and out of the way when the day is done. Also note that the side pockets and leg extensions do not come as part of the package with every vendor, and may be sold as extras. Everything about this item just shouts "Quality!" It is incredibly well-made and well-engineered; the zippers are very high quality, the Velcro is superior, and the carrying cases keep each of the sections in place by either Velcro or strong straps. My only wish is that each bunk was a bit lighter in overall weight. Each bunk weighs in at around 44 lbs., making it a bit heavy for a lightweight person to manage, even in its compact carrying case. In spite of its weight (or perhaps because of it) this Disc-O-Bed is a phenomenal product, and worth every penny I paid for it.
