Just put together this swingset and for the price, it's unbeatable. Either hire somoene to put it together for you or set aside an entire day to do so. But, once it's assembled it's pretty great! My two year old loves it. It is a little smaller than the playsets you see in schools and on playgrounds. I would say this is a good playset from 2 to 5 or 6 but not up to 10 as stated. Not sure what the wood or stain is. It says "Chinese Cedar' and smells like cedar. My concern with wood from China is that it contains some harmful chemical. It is stained and the stain does leak a little upon assembly but it seems fine for playing on. Will update later when we have had it for 6 months. Cannot beat the price or shipping!
The swingset came in one big long box. It was overwhelmign all the pieces at first but everything in the box was labeled, every piece of wood and little baggy was labeled so it was easy to inventory all the items. But once I organized all the pieces the directions was easy to follow and my father and us put it together in two days. The wood is a nice color and accurately pictured. A couple of pieces of wood had cracks down the middle which worried me about the sturdiness of the wood but then again I'm not a carpenter so not sure if it mattered since they were small. So far it is holding up well and we've been using it for a month now. The bolts that hold the slide down to the wood on the top part sticks out and it snags my daughter's pants every single time and caused holes other than that the slide is super fast and smooth. I had to cover the bolts with duck tape and that helped. My 2 year old and her friends loves it and has been rough on it and it's holding up well. The swing and monkey bars hang low but the swings are adjustable but the monkey bars aren't. I can't raise it any higher because it is hung on a rope and clamp and not chains like the swing. We like the swing set alot and would recommend it. It's definitely worth the money, this swingset is great!
My grandsons have used this swingset for 3 seasons. This set has held up well and for the money, it is sturdy and well built. My grandsons are now 4yr old and we also have a new grandson that will be using this swingset this summer, he is 11mo. old. We have not had any problems with the cedar splitting or rotting, nor has there been any problems with the plastic slide, or swings, nor the covering on the fort. We would buy this cedar swingset again.
This was our kids Christmas gift last year to replace an aluminum set from a big box store. Shipping was not the quickest but it was free and it did arrive in time for the holiday. It does take quite a bit to put together. It's a LOT of individual pieces and some pieces are not drilled correctly. FYI the slide is kind of a nightmare... it's one flat sheet of plastic that must be bent into the wavy tracks of the slide. It took my husband and my brother two days to put together. It is a very soft wood, not 100% certain its the Cedar it claims to be, but we treated it with a coat of wood stain twice already. We live in Southern California so it can be cool and very warm and we have automatic sprinklers in our backyard so we want to make sure we can mitigate as much damage as possible so far 6 months in we're pretty pleased. The kids love it... we have 2 girls 9 and 6 and 1 boy 2 and nearly every day they go outside to play on it and will often drape sheets on the bottom to make a fort. It's pretty cute and overall they like it and that's what matters.
This was great purchase for the price and has been thoroughly enjoyed by my children. It took roughly 6 hours to assemble on my own with the proper tools (power drill highly encouraged, as well as multiple wrenches and screwdrivers) It has withstood the Midwest winters pretty well, but I highly recommend sealing/staining it yearly (product recommends twice yearly). The lumber ends have split a little bit in the 3 years we've owned it, but with sanding and re-sealing, still looks good. I have had to move the unit twice, which will take at least 2 people once assembled. Make sure to tighten the screws and bolts seasonally as well. The canopy has aged well and doesn't appear to show any signs of sun bleaching. I have had to replace 3 of the stakes that came with the swingset, through no fault of the stake. Overall, it has been a good investment, and I gave it 4 stars.
This is much more like a 2,000 piece puzzle than something you assemble quickly. Don’t expect to have your kids playing on it the same day. I’m an engineer, and it took me a full day to assemble. The instructions were good, but the manufacturing was often imprecise and many holes had to be re-drilled. The hardware is made of a cheap weak metal that cross-threads or breaks easily. I used far more tools than the instructions said I would need. I sometimes had the feeling that the designers never built one themselves, because many elements could have been simplified and improved at the same time. It would be significantly more sturdy and a little less expensive if they had used long pieces of wood instead of 3' lengths stuck together with bolts. They probably wanted to avoid a long box and sacrificed strength as a result. However, it’s made for little ones and in general they’ll probably grow out of it before they cause any serious damage. I would not buy this again, but it’s done and I suppose it’s good enough.
we just moved into a new home. this swingset it the perfect size. not a very big foot print but spacious so there's plenty of room for everyone to play.
Good set Fast shipping Was not hard to install
It took me about 12 hours to do by myself, kit is well organized and labeled, and goes together rather painlessly. I suggest you organize all the pieces before starting as they come by the hundreds. Once it's assembled it's a good structure and feels solid, I've taken a few go's on the swings without creaking or movement. So far my 3 year old loves it!
Good sturdy and solid. Nice and big. Grandkids and neighbor kids alike love it. 5 years and going strong. If hd a need to would buy again. Definitely recommend to others.
Grandson was to young went I brought it for him but now he has fun on it
I purchased the swing about a month ago and I am still working on it. Nothing is put together you start with a pile of lumber. I t makes me realize that I will never buy anything like this from online again I will purchase local and have them put it together
Directions are not easy to follow
Aunts and Uncles chipped in for our niece's first birthday. The parents and child loved it - She's now 3 and it is in great shape. Great buy.
It’s a good price but it’s a total puzzle to build. And not the best quality
Very small and many pieces did not fit together well. Husband had to make modifications.
