Works well except we have it at the stairs and sometimes trip on the bottom

I have three very large dogs, and though we love them very much. they are also extremely hairy. I bought this gate because I needed a way to prevent the dogs from entering our kitchen but I didn't want some ugly gate or a baby gate since we have no children. I bought two because our opening to our kitchen is so wide. My concern was that it would be flimsy and/or just fall over if bumped. Sooo... happy to say that not only do these gates look beautiful but they are also very sturdy. Love them, great find!

This gate came assembled except for the latch which was very easy to attach. I looks very nice and works perfectly. Very classy looking.

I ordered two of these gates to keep my small dog (12lbs) from getting into the dining room & peeing on the rug during the night (open floor plan so no doors to shut). They are high enough that she can't jump over them, & the slates are close enough together that she can't squeeze through them. The gates are easy to move around so can put away during the day, but are also attractive enough to leave out if needed. We also have a larger dog (100 lbs) who could very easily get through the gates if he wanted to just by pushing them over, but as they are tall & offer a visual barrier, he does not attempt to do so - the gates are therefore very handy to use with him for when workmen/ repairman/ non "big dog lovers" come to the house as they are so portable. I have been using them nightly for approximately 6 months now & they remain in excellent shape. They arrived quickly with no assembly required (other than attaching the spring to lock the swinging access door - about 2 mins total), and were packaged well. Great purchase, worth the money & would buy them again.

Overall I am pleased with the product because of its looks and function. It is not a substantial barrier but instead relies on it's imposing looks to deter. It will not stop a dog who insists on getting past it. I bought two gates; on both, many of the dowels were warped (looked like the prisoner tried to escape from jail by bending the bars) and one of the gates had sustained a serious gouge to the bare wood on the edge which occurred before it was packaged for shipping. If I had purchased locally, I'd have returned/exchanged but didn't want the hassle of shipping for a replacement.

Works great as a pet barrier and looks a little less industrial. We like the look and it gets the job done.

We needed a fence to keep the dog out of the living room but did not want to attach anything to our stucco interior walls. This fence was plenty wide, which was a problem with other gates, and is very attractive. The gate makes it easy for us to enter/ exit the room without moving the fence. It comes out of the box almost ready to go. Only issue would be if you have a large dog that could knock it over. It would not keep a more physically active dog out, I don't think. We have an older beagle.

More durable than other pet gates that I have purchased

My dogs will destroy my furniture if I leave them alone in the house. This barrier gate fit the bill. I left my 2 55lbs Australian Shepherds (VERY ACTIVE DOGS) alone for 10 hours. They were still behind the gate when I returned home.I did need to secure the gate with ties (I used Bungee cords) to secure fixtures but it was not difficult. This gate is a blessing.

I really like this gate. I have 2 dachsunds who do not like my 2 cats and vice versa. The gate is off the great room going down the hallway to the "cat wing," so I wanted something that looks very nice, and it does. However, if it had to stand up to heavy traffic, I don't think it would hold up well. I'm the only person here, and I only have kids who visit sporadically, so it works for us. If you have a ton of traffic, I wouldn't recommend it.

First thing to note: this product met all of my needs. It was wide enough to span the large gap between my kitchen, where my dog is allowed, and the dining room, where the cats are fed food the dog would love to sample. It is also stable enough when spanning the almost 6' width that there is no danger of it falling over without a lot of effort. That said, I expected it to be a little sturdier. I am deducting one star because some of the spindles are slightly loose, and it just feels a little flimsy. I'm not so concerned about my dog; I'm worried I might break it if I twist it too hard or pick it up without supporting it evenly. It may hold up perfectly fine, but I'm just not confident. I'm also deducting a second star because of some minor defects. It appears that something pressed into the stain when it was being applied, as a portion of one of the panels has obvious texture to it that was really disappointing. I noticed it before I even had it completely out of the box. My girlfriend commented on it as soon as she saw it: "Ooh, I like the new gate. What's that spot?" It's about the size of a softball and spans a couple of the spindles. Additionally, the latching mechanism for the gate doesn't really align well, so I need 2 hands most of the time to get it closed (I'm not sure if this is only an issue because the gate arrived with the handle of the latch unscrewed; I may not have been able to realign it properly when reattaching). Kind of a pain to go through with anything in my hands. It means I have to leave the gate almost closed but unlatched until I set down what was in my hands - an excellent opportunity for an ambitious dog to sneak through. If asked whether or not I would buy this again, I really just don't know. I probably would, but I'd temper my expectations a little bit. It does what I need it to do, but I find myself wishing for a little more.

I use it everywhere for my two poms. Great height, construction, and looks great compared to those ugly baby gates. The inset door makes it very convenient to use it by the front door.

The gate is very pretty, but if your pet wants out, it is very easily moved. I had to put a scat mat in front of it which helped, but I don't feel comfortable using it to actually keep my pets in. If you could figure a way to attach it to the wall, it might work. There are free standing gates with stabilizing legs that would probably work a bit better. It really doesn't serve the purpose for me.

We scoured the internet to find something to keep our dog on the kitchen tile but there was a ~20 ft gap connecting to the carpeted family room. We bought two of these and were able to connect them with a spare set of hardware, which Primetime Petz sent us for free, directly. The gate works great for our 2 yr old separation anxiety dog that we just rescued - who physically hurts herself trying to get out of crates because she feels trapped. This gate option has been working much better, and the gates are very sturdy. I do wish the wood where the hardware connects was a little stronger, because it feels a little flimsy. Also, the pins have fallen out of the 360-degree hardware pieces a couple times. We're overall satisfied with this product.

This pet gate is not cheap, but we are pleased with it. It is a sturdy, wooden piece and nicely finished, so it looks good at the base of the stairs in our entry hall. It is tall enough to deter our Golden Retriever puppy (4 months, 30+ pounds) from even trying to leap over or crash through -- at least so far! The four-piece hinged construction works well to arrange around a curved bottom stair (such as ours) or other oddball openings. The little gate within one of the pieces works fine.
