I recently moved from Chicago to Arkansas. I have two cats (5 yrs old. they both weigh about 11 lbs ea) I needed something that would fit both of them comfortably so they wouldn't be on top of each other or cramped. This worked out perfect. That drive was 11 hours. I did visit my local vet prior to moving to see if there was a sedative I could buy to help they thru the trip. Any time my cats are in the car to go to the vet 5 min away they cry continuously until we get there. So the sedative I received from my vet would help to make them sleepy. We were supposed to give it to them 1 hour b4 we left. I gave it to them and then 10 min later packed them into this carrier and we took off. They meowed a little....but nothing crazy. The sedative hadn't kicked in yet. It is only meant to last 6 hours, so I was worried what the last 5 hours would bring. Well, after the 6 hours I think they had just gotten so used to the car ride and that everything was ok, they just kept quite for the last 5 hours. I drive an SUV and had put the back seats down and placed the carrier in a spot so the cats could see me. The car was jammed with all kinds of stuff around them, but they didn't care. they could see me. The last 5 hours were very much like the first 6. very quiet and uneventful. I would hear an occasional meow, but that was it. The carrier was great!! comes with a nice cushion, but I also put their sleeping bed in it so they would have something familiar. Oh, want to mention, I bought this 60 days before we moved, and opened it up and put it in the living room where it stayed for a long time. they checked it out several times, and then they started playing in it AND sleeping in it. Wanted them to know this carrier was a safe place. I bought this "Dog Crate" based on people's reviews for their cats.
