I have way too many cats between 8 and 18 pounds each. Most are outside during the day, but in at night due to coyotes, owls and other predators. They all loved this tree, running up and down or just napping. However, after about a
year the scratching post twine started coming apart and off. We replaced, but kept happening.
Then posts and flats loosened. Tried tightening but kept happening then started coming apart.
The posts are heavy cardboard with plastic end inserts that the shelves and other posts screw
into. These strip or crack, and once that happens there's no fixing it. We now have a couple of
pieces that they still use, but the rest is in the trash. I and the cats loved the size and design, but I guess you get what you pay for. This might last if you only have 1 or 2 lazy cats.
