I have some seriously spoiled cats and they love this cat bed - so much so that I have ordered a few of them so they can each have their own! The cover is removable and machine washable. The form of the bed is thick foam. The edge of the bed is high enough so cats can feel protected whilt sleeping and also have something to curl up against; yet it is low enough to allow them to peek over the edge. I have 1 small senior cat, 1 medium sized cat, and one nearly 20 pound long and tall male cat who all feel comfortable using the bed. The beds have proved to be durable too. I have washed the covers several times and air dried them. I also hand washed the foam after a hairball incident. I deducted a star simply based on price; I feel it is too expensive based on the simplicity of the design.
After a Cat-astrophy involving a trip to the vet, I realized I needed a carrier for my 12 lb, 18 in+ long, cat Isis. I saw a similar one on a "special deal/ sale" site, and diligently looked for the best price. This carrier ranged from $XX - $XX. The quality of this carrier is excellent- it is put together well, machine washable, and my cat loves the thing. I zipped it up to see what it looks like, and she was in it immediately, now using it as a cat bed of sorts. (Like all cats, she would not be using it had I bought it as a cat bed!) She is a pretty large cat, and lays in it comfortably. I would not be as impressed of the value if I had paid $XX, but the overall value at $XX is fabulous. Perfect for taking a cat to and from places (and currently, a bed of sorts for inside). Not a "crate" to keep an animal "caged in" as the mesh is pretty thin and could be chewed through in a night if the animal wanted out. It is after all a carrier, not a crate.
I ordered this for my outside feral cat who LOVES it. This weather repellent house is so easy to put together. It is extremely well made and has 2 clear plastic flaps, one on each side of the house, that is secured with Velcro. The top zippers in place and the sides are secured with industrial hook & loops closures. The heated pad has a bur-bur type fabric covering that is washable. This is a life saver house for your favorite feral cat(s) and mine. I'm into crafting things, but I could NEVER have made such a well constructed unit.
Unless you have a teeny tiny dog, this bed is very small. My little cat loves it.
