It's a HON chair, so if you've used one you know what to expect - a functional chair that works out of the box. The chair seat, back and arms came fully assembled - the only thing I had to do was remove the cap from the cylinder, pop the cylinder into the base, and then put the seat on top. This model is a center-tilt model, and not a synchro-tilt model, which is fine, I prefer the recline of a center-tilt chair, but miss the position locks of synchro-tilt, however it is not a make or break feature for me to have,.The chair is completely silent as well - no squeaks when reclining from the chair or the reclincing hardware, and no caster noise. The back of the chair also lifts up and lowers to fit your body, I like that you can do this sitting in the chair with your finger tips by lifting it up, and to drop it, you just pull the seat back all of the way up and it will unlock and drop back down. The only thing that surprised me was that the base was plastic instead of painted metal, but it hasn't been problematic, and it matches the arms. Great chair, I'd buy a second one in a heartbeat if I needed it.
