Father-in-law told me these double door traps wouldn't work. WRONG! I've had this 3 trap setup for a few weeks now. After a little research I used the following info and have had non-stop success (yes there are a lot of chipmunks). I have not taken any scent precautions because the chipmunks don't care. I did, initially, bait the trap with both doors locked open so that the chipmunks would be comfortable entering the traps. And lastly, my tried and true bait is a very small amount of peanut butter on the trip plate in the center of the trap with some birdseed mix stuck to the peanut butter. The chipmunks can't help themselves!
