After reading the numerous reviews about the piece being dull and drab, I was prepared and ordered it anyways. While the piece I received did indeed appear to be drab, mostly because the maroon colored pieces on the art were darker red than bright red, rendering it brownish on the location where it was mounted due to low lighting. Two ways to fix this. Set up a track light and aim it at the art piece, OR head down to your local ***** and pick up a few cans of bright colored spray paint and a can of clear coat. I kid you not. I went wild with 4 colors and brighten the dull pieces on the art in a matter of hours (masking the other pieces of course). Now it looks better than ever with my personal touch. The piece will look dull if you mount it on a dimly lit wall. If the wall receives plenty of natural and/or artificial lighting, it will look good. I still recommend. I also mounted it by myself, quite a cinch if I say so myself! Definitely compliments our "Life Tree V" oil paint, which we also ordered from m!
