I know I'm being a little too picky on this one, but I chose this lamp over the very very similar one (priced at about $40 less) carried by Great Offer Stock specifically because of the way the shade appears to overlap the driftwood slightly in the photos. It looked better and higher quality to me, and significantly enough for me to pay more for these lamps (I bought two). When the lamps arrived I first assumed they had sent the wrong lamps, but then I realized that the photo shown on the item description has the shade placed upside-down. If you put the shade on this way, the bulb would stick right out the top as the top (actually bottom!) of the shade lies about flush with where the bulb screws in.
Great Offer Stock worked to make it right, and I kept the lamps, but I still don't like the way the shade sits up a few inches above the driftwood bundle. I wish I'd ordered the Explorer Driftwood Table Lamps, even though they are more expensive, as they look a bit more high-end and less like a cute diy-craft project, which is how I think these ones look.
They are cute, they are unique, and they fit in well at the lake house. They are of a good scale for an end table or a night stand.
I'll be looking for new shades to fit the lamp base more in the way I had hoped for, and in the way the picture still being used on the website shows the lamp looking.
I wish I'd just returned them, but they are cute enough to live with for awhile.
