I was very excited when I found this teak spa bench for my fully remolded bathroom. Wow, teak under $200! Sadly when it arrived, not only was the staining uneven. It had a dent on one corner and a few splinters on its side. One of the rubber foot rests was never added. Not even a screw had been drilled in like the other 3. Yes, I'm returning. :(

This came fully assembled, is solid teak, and is very sturdily made. When finished with our master bath remodel, we'll use it just outside our walk-in shower - - the teak nicely compliments slate walls and floor. I can't comment as to its "sea-worthiness" IN the shower, i.e. under constant, directly shower spray, and we don't plan to use it that way, anyway. The bench is exactly as pictured -- generously sized, comfortable to sit on, handy storage underneath. It would work in other places in a house, as well, i.e. in the bedroom for all those bed cushions at night, or as a vanity bench, in a mudroom, as extra seating at the dining table...even a piano bench. Love it, glad we bought it.

Have a very Lg Custom Shower all glass; I choose to put this Outside the shower... use it to dry off - looks beautiful; sturdy - Great space underneath the bench. Perfect look to give this bath the Spa look that I wanted.

At this price and workmanship I was seriously doubtful it was actual TEAK, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Looks great and is sturdy. . . is it really TEAK though? Seller can you confirm this is ACTUAL teak wood.
