These shelves will handle anything. I bought a large rock at Mount Zion national park and its fits perfectly in a cubby. I have several hundred hard cover books and these babies handle them. No sagging, no wiggling, they are solid. So far I have purchased four and I just bought two more. I shopped for months, and these are the best. Very strong materials, watch the assembly - it can be tricky but if you play the soundtrack to Les Miserable, sing along, and have a glass of wine, you will get them together just fine. Extremely pleased.

Functional Very easy to put together - I put two of them together and it took me about 90 minutes each. Directions were clear. It's not the fanciest piece in the world, nor would it ever be considered and heirloom piece, but it is functional and looks perfectly fine in our living room - one on either side of our TV.

Smells really bad! It looks OK after assembly but the smell is just too strong and bad! This only means one thing: the manufacturer used very-low quality paint for this bookcase. greatofferstock.com should have done a much better job making sure everything they sell meet minimum standards.

Nice Addition to My Traditional Decor This bookcase/display unit provided a wonderful update to my living room and was relatively easy for my husband and me to assemble. This unit is not a light piece of furniture; I'd advise assembling this piece close to where it will stand. It offers lots of room to stash treasured items. Now I feel organized and very up-to-date with this chic new addition.

VERY BAD QUALITY!!! DO NO BUY IT! I got this piece yesterday. The quality of it is SO BAD. The painting falls. The pieces were not cut well, so it did not assembled well, you can see the spaces between, see the pictures. I will not return because I know I will be a hassle, I know it may sounds ridiculous, but I feel like I should be refunded without having to send it back, just look at the pictures. Unfortunately, I could not upload all the pictures, but there were 4 screws that could not get tight at all. On the back panel I had to put tapes to hold it together, because there were no space for me to add the screws. I so disappointed with this purchase, but again I will not return because I have read some reviews here about reruns and they are not happy.

You are provided with 2 options, depending on which you choose. One side is what I would refer to as "slate blue" in color. It is a solid color and every panel is the same color (no stripe). However, the opposite side of the panels offer a "white and tan stripe". I chose this option, since I wanted it to accent tan furnishings; it came out looking fine and the stripes lined up pretty well. So, you have these two options available.
