I ordered the country chairs to go with a new table that I just bought and they matched perfectly. I love these chairs because they are sturdy and pretty. I am kind of a heavy lady and they are just great. I feel confortable and safe in these chairs.
I ordered these chairs and am very pleased I did. They shipped quickly, and they came in two boxes (they come two to a box, I ordered a total of 4 chairs). I am an average sized woman and I assembled these chairs quickly and easily. The only thing you need to assemble are the front legs, stretchers, and seat. Sounds more complicated than it was. The back down to the back legs are pre-assembled in one piece. I put together the front legs & stretchers and attached the seat. It was really very simple once I had a rhythm for the assembly. My chairs are uniform in color, the holes lined up. However, there are a few small extra holes that may confuse you if you don't follow the directions exactly. Those were located on the seat frame sides (a small single hole on top & bottom not seen when assembled) and the wooden seat bottom (underside). Just ignore those holes you won't see them when finished and appear to be errors. I followed the directions exactly during assembly and these holes were not mentioned. The chairs are sturdy and look much better than expected. I glued the dowels as well during assembly. There are no screws or holes showing on finished assembly. I was worried there would be when I ordered them. I own very expensive furniture in my main home and have enough experience with furniture that I can tell you the chairs are every bit what you would expect to see with about a *** dinette set. (The color is a warm white by the way, but lean more toward the white and match my white kitchen appliances). I can see one or two small areas where the paint quality isn't perfect, but those are on the undersides of the chairs. I was worried about them being too ivory like you get with some new cottage furniture. The color seems to be the perfect transition between my off-white (more ivory cream) family room tables, and my white kitchen. So very happy color-wise. Overall I'm very pleased with them, and they tie my kitchen dinette area into the rest of the cottage theme I have going on at my beach house. They're made in Malaysia, and appear to be of a sturdy type of wood. If you're thinking about ordering them you should feel confident in doing so. They will meet your expectations for the style of chair. Susanna
High quality, easy to assemble.
These are great-looking, sturdy chairs that look perfect in our first apartment! They are not the highest quality furniture, but they are very clean and stylish and quite sufficient for our needs. They are definitely good value for the price. The rubberwood seat has a nice color and grain, and will match any other furniture you may have that's made of natural-colored tropical hardwood, which a lot of inexpensive furniture is these days. The chairs were relatively simple to assemble, though much easier to put together with 2 people. By myself I was able to assemble one chair in a little under 30 minutes. Assembly definitely requires a ratcheting screwdriver or electric screwdriver -- trying to use just the cheap alan wrenches included would drive you crazy! Also, we found that the screws included to attach the center front of the seat to the legs were a little too short, but a quick trip to the local hardware store for some longer screws fixed that problem. Overall, I'm very pleased with these chairs; they are definitely sturdy and comfortable enough for daily use. The style of the chairs is great because they could easily fit into country-themed decor or more modern decor (like our apartment) depending on the way you furnish the rest of the room. We are very happy with this purchase!
I was shopping to replace the chairs that came with my white/natural farmhouse table twelve years ago. I have a table, a bench, and four chairs. The table and bench are still in great shape, and I just wanted to find something to match what I had and replace my worn out chairs. I shopped for about a month on various furniture websites, and also on Walmart.com and Target.com. I didn't want anything expensive. I have small children who are hard on furniture, and I just wanted these chairs to make it for about five years, at which point I plan to replace my entire dining set. These chairs filled that requirement perfectly. They are a perfect match to my white/natural table, and the "X" design adds interest. The backs are shorter than my previous chairs, which has taken a little getting used to, although if I'd paid more attention to the measurements, I would have known that. As far as assembly goes, my husband took care of most of that. But the one complaint I heard him mention was that it was hard to determine where to put the seat. It was apparently difficult to get the seat in the same spot on each chair. Regarding quality, the chairs look very nice. But they are not very heavy, which gives the impression that they're not top quality. Still, my husband weighs 240, and the chairs hold him with no problems and no signs of strain. Also, one of the chair seats has a rough spot, about the size of a quarter, that looks like an imperfection they should have caught at the factory. but I decided not to try to replace the seat, so I didn't contact Great Offer Stock about it. The other three chairs were flawless. All in all, I would definitely purchase these chairs again. They met my needs exactly, and at a great price.
I own a white and oak kitchen table but needed two chairs to go with it. I found this set of 2 Country Cottage Dining Chairs on the web site and so I ordered them. They were very easy to put together. I did find a slight crack in the wood on one of the back's of the chairs but I decided to keep it and not send it back. The other chair was perfect. Both chairs look great in my kitchen with my table and they are extremely comfortable to sit on. If you order these chairs before you throw away the boxes and the packing materials I would look carefully at the wooden pieces to make sure there are no cracks in the wood. Otherwise I like these chairs very much.
I love these chairs they go great in my dining room! Yes I would recommend these chairs.
These chairs replaced four that came with my dining room set. The original chairs were heavy with thick maple wood seats. The first thing I noticed when picking up the boxes the chairs came in is that they seemed very light, once assembled they are obviously not the same quality as what came with me dining set but they seem to be adequate and they are attractive chairs. Assembly was easy and after the first one I had things went quickly. I saw a couple other reviews that mentioned nails sticking out through the sliders on the bottom of the chairs and one of mine did have a nail protruding. I didn't notice it during assembly and only found out when it wouldn't slide on my floor because it was gouging into the linoleum, I definitely recommend checking them well before putting them on your floor. Overall I'd recommend these chairs for an inexpensive and attractive option however spending a bit more would likely get your more durability and be a better value in the long run.
The chairs were a little difficult to put together but not overly hard. We are pleased with the quality and sturdiness of the chairs. The white paint is even and feels durable. The design is nice and the chairs are comfortable. They match a table I already had and the price was very reasonable. Great Offer Stock shipped immediately.
I ordered two packages (four chairs total). The packages were delivered quickly. On opening one of the packages and examining the pieces, I found that one seat had something spilled on the underside and on an edge, which would be visible after assembly. Also, there was a defect in the wood of one rung (on the top, where it could be seen). The hardware bag (paper) was torn, allowing some of the washers to spill into the carton, and, given how the carton was sealed (or not sealed), they could have slipped out during shipping. Fortunately, I did manage to find all the washers in the carton. My biggest concern, however, was the lack of any instruction sheet for assembly. The only "instructions" were stickers on some of the pieces indicating "left" or "right." Having recently assembled some similar chairs (with instructions), though, I managed to figure it out. The other package also had no instruction sheet, so this was not a fluke. After assembling the frame of one chair, something did not look right, and on comparing it to a chair assembled from the first package, I realized that the side rails had been mislabeled as to left and right, so I had to disassemble and reassemble it. The other pair of side rails also was mislabeled. The chairs have nylon glides on the legs. Some of them were not pounded in completely, and one had the nail head (which should be embedded in the nylon) exposed. I wound up removing the glides and replacing them with adhesive felt pads. I consider the assembled chairs to be of marginally-acceptable quality (sturdiness and finish) and would not recommend this item.
These chairs are great! I was looking to replace my dining room chairs since the kids had been hard on them over the years. These chairs matched my table well and were reasonably priced so I decided to give them a go. I'm glad I did! They are sturdy and easy to assemble. I have since replaced my whole dining room set, but I kept the chairs to use elsewhere in the house. Great buy!!
These chairs arrived very quickly, in good shape and all appropriate parts were included. I got all six of the chairs I ordered put together in one easy afternoon. I drilled the pilot holes in the seat for the brackets myself (no other pilot holes necessary) to make it easier. I used a drill as an electric screwdriver as each chair has lots of screws providing for a very sturdy design. I anticipated having to buy different screws from earlier reviews, but all the correct pieces were included in the package so either earlier reviewers got parts mixed up or the manufacturer corrected the screw types. Directions were more picture than written direction but since screws were pictured and described and identified alphabetically, it was easy to put the chairs together. The only thing I realized that could be tricky is that the flat side panels that connect the back of the chair to the front legs have one end that is flat (which goes at the front of the chair and one end that is angled (which goes at the back of the chair). I started to put it together wrong on the first chair but found I had to force dowels into predrilled holes to get the front legs attached and figured best never to force things! Turned them around and it fell together just fine. Quality good - chairs heavier than the ones I bought with the set 17 years ago for a higher price than I paid for these. Update: I still have these 2 chairs as well as 6 others just like them that I've had for over 9 years now. I still love them and they are still sturdy solid great looking chairs.
These chairs are fantastic They look exactly like the picture. Everything arrived very quickly all on the same day. They were easy to put together. All the parts were there. When we put the chairs together we added wood glue just to be safe, tho I'm not really sure we needed it! We are very impressed. We bought these to go with the Rubberwood Farmhouse Table and they look fantastic together. As for comfort .. eh.. they are not bad..they are after all stiff, sturdy - wooden chairs. There is actually a little bowing in the backs which makes it more comfortable.. You cold add small seat pads if you needed padding for the bum. As noted above, I did get mixed up and ordered 4 sets of 2 and meant to only order 2 sets of 2 .. so I had 8 chairs! (only needed 4) I was panicked thinking I'd ordered these large items and returning them would be a nightmare; I had to return two sets.. I had not opened the boxes and the return was CRAZY EASY.. I printed out a UPS Label,, dropped off the boxes at a UPS site and they credited my account in a few days.. I was amazed!! I'm very happy with this purchase.. I highly recommend these!
I no longer live in the home I originally purchased these chairs for, but these chairs have lasted years! They are high quality wood and sturdy! Also, no adjustments needed - they did not wobble at all!
I purchased 6 of these chairs and then turned around and ordered 2 more to go with a long white harvest table that I have. They look great with this table. After the first chair was put together, it was a snap to put the others together. I added red cushions to the chair to give it a soft, country charm look. I really like them for the fact that they are sturdy, do not take up all the table leg room as some chairs do and that the seat area will hold heavier built people. Nice chair, not overly big, but would fit most people.
We have a table that didn't have matching chairs so I was looking for some white and natural wood ones to match it. These were perfect, and I loved the cross back style. The chairs are nice and sturdy and surprisingly good quality. With the low shipping charge I was able to get these better chairs compared to less expensive chairs at another store whose shipping charges were astronomical. We are very please with the chairs, they match my table nicely and give it a little country look, yet are a little more modern looking. I am very happy with this purchase.
Previous reviews indicated these are sturdy chairs even for a larger person. They do feel sturdy. The only concern I have is the front legs have a normal width and as the picture shows, has a slight flair at the bottom. The back legs are actually narrower. It isn't a huge difference but enough that our 9 yr old who has a hard time not tipping on chairs has had it slip out from under him twice because of the narrower legs in the back. Fortunately this was on carpet and hopefully will teach a lesson. When I sit on it and lean to the side to grab something off the floor I feel like it could slip, but it hasn't. We bought 6 of these chairs and they went together well when using the proper tools. They look very nice and we are happy with the purchase.
I was looking for 6 inexpensive dining room chairs for my daughter. They seem sturdy enough now - time will tell if they hold up.. One of the chairs arrived with the "x" cracked. I contacted the manufacturer and a replacement part was sent promptly.
These are great chairs. Sturdy and well built. I originally purchased two of these chairs and then ordered two more because they were of such high quality, BUT (1) the directions are awful. My husband tossed those directions and figured it out on his own and (2) the second set of chairs did NOT come with all the hardware (4 brackets) that made the first two chairs so strong and sturdy. The inconsistency is concerning and disappointing...but still great chairs.
I am not sure why I thought they would have a higher back. I did read the dimensions. I was used to the chairs they replaced to be about 6 inches higher on the corner spindle. However I am quite pleased with the chair. Be aware that on assembling them, they did not have the seat marked or drilled where the seat is to be attached to the chair frame. You have to eye ball carefully before you drill if you want them to match each other. I bought two sets ( four chairs ) so it took a little more time to assemble properly. They feel sturdy and I hope they are as we have a lady that is over weight that we play bridge with. In fact I was afraid the replaced chairs would not sufficiently hold her weight so purchased these upon careful study of options.
