This tablecloth is a must have! Not just for the holidays but every day. I have used it for a table topper and a gorgeous cloth over my antique pie table. sturdy fabric with a solid double stitched border. The flocking is slightly raised and doesn't bend under fingertip pressure. It would not become dented if some thing heavy was placed on it. The rest if the weave is sheer and has a iridescence which is really quite lovely. I do not think I would actually serve food on it because of the possibility of drips and stains. I put the plates, flatware etc on it and used a solid red table cloth for the food that I know will wash well. This tablecloth says machine washable however.
