Great idea!
I have an 8 x 11' area rug in the sitting room of my bedroom. I was frustrated because it kept rippling over time as we walked on it and it seemed like we could never get the carpet to lie flat or keep it from slowly moving and getting off-center. Finally, I tried this carpet-to-carpet rug pad, and it works great! The rug now lies flat and does not move - even when I vacuum! It was a great buy!!

Area Rug Lifesaver!!
I had a wool area rug over carpet that kept shifting when I walked on it, despite it being anchored by furniture on 2 sides. The end result was a rug hill in the middle that looked like it was on its way to becoming permanent. I tried double sided carpet tape, nonskid mats, etc. and nothing worked until this rug pad with low levels of adhesive on both sides. I moved the rug, peeled the crinkly paper off the pad and laid the adhesive side down on the carpet. Then I peeled the other side off, and positioned the area rug on top. Just to make sure there were no shifting issues, I put dumbbells at the corners while I walked over the rug daily for the next week. The rug ended up adhering nicely across the 5x8 surface, the weights were removed and there has been NO SHIFTING or rug hills since. I am now getting ready to move, and am ordering several more for the new place! NOTE to the reviewer with the crinkly sound comments - you have to remove that crinkly paper on both sides to reveal the adhesive. Once it is gone, there is NO NOISE!

Left residue on our carpet.
This rug pad seemed to keep the rug in place for a while, then it started moving around again. We finally took it up and it left a sticky residue on our new carpet and we now have a dark rectangle where the rug pad used to be. Not happy with that at all. We have called in a professional to assess and, hopefully clean the residue off without damaging the carpet. Great Offer Stock does a great job with the ordering and delivery was on-time. Just the rug pad itself that is the problem. I would definitely NOT recommend this for use on carpet.

Finally a solution to my carpet/area rug problem.
My husband and I tried several different pads, but none worked! I read the reviews, and skeptically gave this one a try. My area rug HAS NOT MOVED in three weeks! No more ripples, no more bunching....no more having to move my heavy coffee table to fix the area rug everyday!

I tried another rug pad and our rug would not stay down. Now that we laid our rug over the SAFAVIEH carpet-to-carpet rug pad, our rug stays flat. We are thrilled with how our rug looks now!
