This ready to hang, gallery-wrapped art piece features a river andtrees with tall city buildings in the background.American impressionist Richard Wallich has spent more than 30years honing his painting talents. He studied painting and figuredrawing at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois, wherehe first worked in realism, but found the style too time-consuming.He soon discovered that impressionism allowed him to work muchfaster and more spontaneously, so that he could really immersehimself in the painting. Among other high honors, Richard wascommissioned by the NFL in 1989 to paint for the Super Bowl, and in1996 he was the official artist for the Summer Olympics in Atlanta,Georgia. He has since been commissioned by several large companiessuch as Coca Cola, M&M Mars, and American Airlines.
Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process forcreating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainableexcellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproductionvirtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result iswide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and privatecollectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist'scanvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured ona hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing acanvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finishedpainting.
