I purchased these to add additional small bowls to a purchase of 12 place settings of white bone china from Gorham (came with the larger cereal bowls). I love to have these smaller bowls- they blend beautifully, to have a small serving of fruit, or sorbet, or anything else not needing a large bowl. Remember, they are not porcelain, not heavy, not thick; but lighter weight, semi-translucent when held up to the light. They are "bone china". In other words, they give a more delicate refined feel, yet they have held up beautifully. We use them every day, no chips no cracks - I have put my ceramic stoneware hand painted dishes away, made in Italy or made in Portugal and lovely, but they are heavy and every time we use them, we notice a chip, or glaze crackled, etc. Going simple, practical, a little more contemporary and can be dressed up or casual. Feels great in the hand!

I thought these would be larger and more substantial. They are quite thin like Corelle which I do not like. And Corelle would have been cheaper if that was what I wanted.
