  • Fine but not sure on quality

    I bought this in white and it's a great value for what you get. With that said, it will be interesting to see how this holds up. I don't feel like we will see it survive past 1 or 2 seasons. The crank mechanism is sketchy. Sometimes it stops working and you have to reverse crank and then crank again to get the umbrella to engage. The umbrella is super large and covers a wide area. Looks great out of the box but I wonder how the white will hold up to dirt. The base is heavy and not easy to move around. The rubber around the base constantly slips off and I have to readjust it every time I move the base. I would say you get what you pay for. It's not bad but don't expect much more.

    This umbrella is huge. If your using it outdoors, it can get crazy in the wind. Love that it is the same size as my table, but it is quit large. I would recommend this if your not near windy areas.

    I would give it a 5 but it doesn't tilt and the higher you raise the umbrella, the harder it is to operate. Otherwise, we're very happy with the purchase

  • Elegant and classy

    I have two of these in white in my back yard. One shelters a couple of lounge chairs, the other a round dining table. Although I live in New Mexico, the white umbrellas create a tropical feel. The rectangular shape creates more shade which makes an otherwise sunny yard cool and pleasant. The base weighs 50 pounds and is substantial enough to hold up the larger than average umbrellas. The styling makes it attractive enough to be seen. The down side is the base is heavy if you need to move it. To accommodate the 10 foot width, the umbrella is quite tall even when closed. It can be awkward to handle, especially if you are on the short side. My one concern is the crank mechanism. I've had the umbrellas just a few weeks, and it sometimes makes a slipping or grinding noise when I'm opening or closing the umbrella. So far it hasn't failed to open or close, but the noise indicates the mechanism isn't moving smoothly all the way. Since the umbrellas are just a few weeks old, I don't know yet if this is an indication of problems to come. Overall, I am still happy with my purchase.

    The 50 lb concrete base was prettier than I imagined. The parts to connect the base to the umbrella did not arrive with the umbrella and base. Customer service was great handling this problem and they were sent, but I had to wait another week before the umbrella could be assembled. I like the rectangular shape of the umbrella and the 10 ft pole. It can sit close to the chairs and deck rail and still be cranked open without moving the furniture.

  • Exactly what I needed

    I bought this umbrella and stand to create shade over two chairs and small glass table on my deck. Since I didn't have plans to use it with a dining table, I needed an umbrella tall enough for people to walk under without issues. Even my husband who is 6' 4" can comfortably walk under it. The fabric seems like it is not the best quality as it is thinner than I expected, but only time will tell how it weathers this season. Easy crank open and provides great shade. Base is very sturdy and attractive.

    This is an excellent umbrella for any patio. It is sturdy, easy to put up and take down, looks great, and the base is substantial enough to hold it in strong winds. The pole comes apart in the middle above the table level so you don't have to unfasten the pole from the base to remove it in case of extremely high winds. The crank works smoothly and is in a convenient position.
