Wonderful functional design but first you have to get it put together...... This company seriously needs a good technical writer. The instructions are so poorly written that they don't even tell you the correct tools to use. If possible, either you or one of your helpers should have experience with DIY assembly furniture. If you don't, just remember this: you are not working with real wood. It is sawdust or wood chips mixed with glue covered by wood-grain printed laminate plastic and paper ("manufactured wood products"). You get only one chance at installing fasteners/pieces. Mess that up and all that's left is scrap. Don't even think about gluing it.
WARNING #1: Read all instructions through. SEVERAL OF THE ILLUSTRATIONS SHOW THE COMPONENTS BEING ASSEMBLED IN AN UPSIDE-DOWN POSITION WITHOUT CLEARLY MARKING IT AS SUCH. THIS MAKES IT EASY TO MAKE MAJOR ERRORS - ATTACHING PIECES INSIDE OUT, UPSIDE-DOWN, ETC.. Use a red pencil to clearly mark such pieces on the instruction sheet.
WARNING #2: INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT SHOW PROPER TOOLS NEEDED. A #3 SCREWDRIVER AND RUBBER MALLET are needed, not the regular hammer and slotted screwdriver shown. Use a red pencil to mark all screw-in fasteners and friction-fit plastic dowels.
Be especially careful with the rear pieces that attach the cubbyhole unit to the wall. Though the flanges bear the full weight of the unit plus all the stuff you will eventually pile on and into it, they consist of unreinforced chipboard, some very cheesy stuff indeed, so handle it with care, especially when first hanging the unit. Enlist the help of at least one, preferably two, helpers. It doesn't have to be the project from down below if you take your time and pay attention to what you're doing. Heed all of this devil's advocate advice and you'll have something well worth the effort. Enjoy.
