I have multiple Alsa items. The bedside table I was using was starting to get cluttered so I finally bought the nightstand to have a drawer. It's small and low to the ground, which is proportional to the low style of the bed. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to assemble it at a leisurely pace while watching TV. The only tools I used were a Phillips head screw driver and a rubber mallet. A handy person who frequently assembles furniture could do it much faster but if you only do this occasionally, I do not recommend trying to assemble this in a hurry. The instructions were obviously translated from another language, and it's more important to look carefully at the drawings and make sure everything matches and is aligned correctly. I put it aside for a few minutes when I was unsure about a step involving the rails, and when I looked back again I realized I had the two wood pieces backwards. The only clue was a small hole on the drawing. (I think another reviewer described something similar and had to disassemble it before continuing.) Like all the Alsa items, this nightstand is very sturdy and looks more expensive than it was. The color is very rich and warm. I'm really happy with it. I would describe my style as "classic modern."
