Shelving was easy to install and came as ordered. Very timely response to my order. Would recommend this shelving to anyone who wants garage space and to move thing up from the floor area.

  • Great for limited spaces

Though the standard sized overhead racks are 4'x8', this 2'x8' system is an excellent choice for limited spaces. The 2' deep rack allows for "single row" storage, making identification and location of storage bins/boxes easier, as oppose to the 4' deep racks which hide containers that are in the back. Recommend getting the largest drop-down height available - more storage options. System comes complete with all necessary parts/hardware, and clear instructions. The 27" ceiling brackets come standard allowing anchoring to two ceiling joists (24" on center) per bracket as recommended for load capacity. Note that if your joists run parallel to the C-Channel beams, then the front and rear ceiling brackets will overlap. This is just an inherent design of the 2' deep systems. If the joists are perpendicular to the C-channel beams, then the setup would be as pictured in the listing. On a side note. I had shopped all over for an overhead garage storage rack system, particularly the 2x8 systems. There are many out there, some even claiming to be better than others in strength and capacity, with even you tube videos to prove it. Bottom line, if a system works as intended and your use is legitimate, then you should be fine. I don't think the normal user will be in the habit of jumping/bouncing/trouncing or otherwise be placing unrealistic amounts of "load" or force on their systems that would cause damage as shown in some videos. Shop around, and don't forget to calculate shipping. For Hawaii, Great Offer Stock had the best deal including shipping costs. Other sites, including the Manufacture and Amazon Prime, had outrageous shipping estimates to Hawaii, or would not ship to Hawaii.
