These shades are very well made (says my husband who hung them and is very critical) I needed room darkening shades for a guest bedroom and these were perfect. My window trim is dark brown so I had to have a dark shade. The ceilings are 10', so I couldn't use a cordless shade as you wouldn't be able to reach the shade when fully open. I thought my only option was a shade with a remote control. I needed 4 shades and did not want to spend that much money on remote shades for a guest bedroom. These are the perfect answer! They match the window trim, are very darkening and roll up/down seamlessly! I love that the metal chain is also secured to the window frame, makes it very easy and just looks more attractive. Highly reccommend these shades!

We bought 5 and we are very impressed with the material and the way they installed. I don't know what brand it is but we had real difficulty finding shades with a pull system instead of the cordless. My windows are very high and I could never reach that high to pull down cordless.

This is a nice shade for the price. We have custom shades in our other rooms, but this was just for the guest room. It looks fine and does a good. I'd get it for my other guestroom if they had the right size, but unfortunately its a custom size window.

There's nothing wrong with the quality of the fabric and it would block light. For an interior mount it would likely be suitable. For an exterior mount the mechanisms cause it to project out from the wall more than two inches, at all times. That unfortunately leaves a substantial gap for the purposes of light blocking, so it simply doesn't work. Again, nothing wrong with the quality of the shade, but it doesn't block light.
