We are using this to heat our downstairs family room rather than rely on oil heat. House was built in the 60's and the basement while finished gets a bit chilly in the winter. This does a great job and for fake fire, not all that bad. Now I just need to get sound effects of a crackling fire and we're set. Pretty easy to put together but the directions were not complete. Needed to call the company to make sure how to secure the heater to the mantle frame. The company was very helpful. We are very happy with the purchase.

Wood pieces are nice, some minor imperfections from shipping. Nice firebox. Hardware is cheap and some pieces broke in installation. I just completed a walkin master closet with closetmaid products and that hardware seemed to be heavy duty compared to this hardware.

I purchased this fireplace for a house I just rehabbed. Everybody loved it. It looks expensive and it is very sturdy. I love it and will probably purchase a few more for other rehabs.

It kept falling apart when we tried to pick it up. So we started from the bottom and build up to the top. It looks very nice and the fire box also looks great. I am happy with it..

Its huge! So it looks like a real one. Its exactly what i wanted. Cranks out the heat. I needed help putting it together - definitely a two person job - but it wasnt bad.

We have this in our living room and it looks like it's a part of the house, which is what we wanted. Easy to operate and looks expensive. We bought this on sale, so that's even better! Great buy.

This fireplace is beautiful and is a piece of good quality furniture. Heavy and solid peices, easy to assemble, and stands very firmly. Shipment was within 2 days instead of 3 and delivery had no damage. Very heavy and came in two boxs. I just dragged them in my house when it was delivered. If it needs to go up any stairs, a helping hand will be needed to lift the larger/longer box. The color is very pretty. You can expect to get what you see in the picture, a black/brown tone with a touch of copper brown details in the front. We've been testing the heating. Standing near it you can feel how warm the heat is, but I feel we won't see if it can actually heat up a chilled room until the winter. Controlls are easy to use. I like how there is a remote control as well as controls on the fireplace in case I misplace the remote control. I like the temperature and time settings I can choose from (72-99 degrees and 10 min - 9 hrs). I don't feel it's loud when it's on. You can hear the fan blowing the heat, but I don't feel it distracts me in a quiet room while studying. Almost as if hearing a ceiling fan. The flame is nice! I enjoy having all the settings I can choose from to determine how I want my logs to look or my flame. I can choose the brightness of the logs and small accent lights on them. The body is large and will catch the eye when you enter the room. My husband made a joke that all this fire place needs is to have sound effects of crackling or burning logs and a scent effect of burning wood to complete it. In other words, it's not a real fireplace, but it has given our living room a close feeling of having a real one in it. '
