Mandy Shabby Chic Vintage Antique Dark Bronze Full/Queen Size Iron Metal Platform Bed

I am really pleased with this bed but it may not be for everyone. This is a budget item, so if you're looking at this bed I'm going to assume that, as for me, price is an issue. The proportions and detail of the bed frame are lovely but it does look like painted steel, not bronze, but by the same token that makes it light weight and possible for one not very large woman to assemble alone. One of the reasons I purchased this bed was I wanted something that I could store a lot of stuff under and this has a high clearance. Much to my dismay, when the bed arrived it had a set of supports that went under the middle. As the supports would have rendered my storage plans useless, I left them off. It seems to be fine that way for my 130 lb self as I don't do anything more strenuous in it than read, if you take my meaning. Not sure how it would cope with 400 libs of burning love :)The bed slats also don't seem like they could take a lot of punishment, thin pieces of wood with plastic connectors whose durability in the long term seems questioniable. One could replace them with some real boards - so far it hasn't been necessary but I've had this bed less than a month

I received my bed yesterday and I am happy with the appearance and quality of it. It's sturdy and true to the picture. I would disagree with the reviewer who says the bed is black. I put mine in a room that contains some black wooden furniture and some dark brown, and I was really happy that it seemed to go well with both. I also disagree that the footboard does not stick up over the mattress. Mine does--several inches, in fact--so it probably depends on what thickness of mattress you buy. I bought a 10-inch. Some other reviewers said the bed was too wide for a full size mattress but I did not find that at all. My mattress fit just as expected. What I would complain about are the directions. No words, just a page with about 3 crappy illustrations, and you're supposed to figure it out. You will...I mean we all know how a bed basically goes together, but I want to give you some important tips. The metal frame is no problem, but then you will find a bunch of plastic doohickeys for your slats to fit into. DO NOT install all of these first. If you do, you won't be able to maneuver the slats into them, because the slats are quite stiff. What you want to do is install the plastic thingies that go along the outer edges of the bed, but not the center. Hopefully you'll have someone helping you. Each person needs to fit a slat into the edges (across from each other), then put both of those slats into the plastic thing that's open on both sides, and THEN snap the plastic center thing down onto the center rail. Trust me, this will make more sense when you get started. It took my husband and me an hour or so of working together to get it finished. With better directions it would have been faster.

Sturdy, decent quality especially for the money. However, the directions or horrible. It's one page, horribly printed with no words. Aside from that, it's fairly easy to figure out the assembly. Giving this 3 stars because most importantly, the metal is black. Not even a hint of bronze in the color at all. It's irritating because by the time you take it out of the box and realize that, you can just be honest with yourself and realize it's not going to be shipped back. Also, the footboard does not stand above the mattress at ALL so the picture is deceiving. My mattress is not all that high, and it's flush with the footboard.

Beautiful bed, received it took a while to set up - but in the end ! This bed came out amazing ! Do recommend this merchandise.

The bed looks solid and sturdy. The instruction for assembly is brief but doable. I am totally new for furniture assemblies and took several hours，but still feel OK for me. Also，the holes for screws might be hard to be aligning yet you just have to untighten other screws for a little. It has platform so no box is needed. And since the headboard is flat in shape，the bed looks larger than it is. I am looking for beddings that go well with the beds. Recommended！

It's not iron so it's not real heavy, also wish the headboard was taller. After putting the mattress on, very little shows.

This is a great bed frame for our guest room. The only fault is that the platform is a bit too wide for Full size.

It's a lovely bed. The frame is also very sturdy. My only complaint is the platform part. We had to purchase a desperate bukie board and ended up gluing the slats together. It just wouldn't hold otherwise.

Beautiful bed frame that does not require a box spring. Had some difficulty getting the wood support slats into the frame but figured it out. Instructions for assembly not the best. Once we got it together though we are very pleased. Inexpensive and super sturdy. Great for our guest room.

Not too hard to put together. Everything was in 2 boxes. No scratches. Seems very sturdy but we have not gotten a mattress yet so it has not been used.

I love the vintage look of this bed. It looks great in my room. It took about an hour and a half to put together, but it was easy to do. It only needed an Allen key and a small wrench, both of which were provided. (I did pull out a hammer of my own for one area that needed a little help.) The end result is extremely sturdy and solid. The height of the sides is 10", making under-bed storage easy. There is a support leg in the center as well as two more near the head and foot, so that can impact long storage boxes. I fit two of the low, long under-bed storage boxes but would not be able to fit three. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase!

The directions were terrible

We purchased this bed in Full Size for our guest room after reading dozens of reviews and needing a bed that did not need a box spring. (We were planning on also the Slumber Solutions Choose Your Comfort Gel Memory Foam Mattress at the same time). These two purchases from Great Offer Stock married perfectly. The bed is absolutely gorgeous! It's strong, sturdy, & just looks beautiful. I am over the moon in love with it! I can't believe there are no reviews yet. No regrets buying it. It even arrived a day early. I will not review the mattress until we have had time to sleep on it and give a fair review.
