I'm VERY happy with my new lightweight reel mower. It was very easy yo assemble and cuts like a gas mower. My last push mower was about 500lb and 100yrs old so upgrading to a new modern style was exciting. Very very happy with the results and the price was the cheapest around while maintaining a quality performance product. Would highly recommend to those with a small lawn and looking to go green this year and gas free!
It's about what I expected. I'm happy with the purchase. When the mower arrived, the box was pretty bashed in, but the mower wasn't damaged. It was easy to assemble. It works fine on grass, as long as the grass isn't too tall. It won't cut down certain types of weeds. They just bend over and spring back up. The blades seems to work well, unless a twig or pinecone gets stuck in them. It's a good alternative to noisy weedwhackers. It does a decent job of mowing my small front yard, and is a good workout.
First of all I put it together myself....(I'm a very small "older person"). The directions are good and the weight of the mower is very managable. My yard is small and the grass had not been cut for awhile. I did have to go over some area a few times but the mower is very easy to push so that was not a problem. I would recommend this product to anyone with a small yard. A big plus.....no gas to buy.
I remember my mom telling me about how she loved using these in the 50s and 60s. I was excited to get a little exercise and save on gas and electricity. This is not the same quality push mower my mother used. For this product to work, you must have PERFECT grass, i.e. no weeds, flat ground, no sticks or twigs of any size, and short grass. I have a lot of crab grass and dandelions. It will only cut normal grass (I tried a strip on my next door neighbor's nice yard and it worked very well). It just knocks down everything else, which bounces back up after you pass. It also got caught every time I went over twigs I couldn't even see. It usually takes 45 min to an hour to do my lawn with a traditional mower. It took me 2 hours with this one because I had to mow the same spot over and over from different angles. When my friends came over that evening, they asked when I was going to start using my new mower. I think that says it all.
I'm 75 yrs old & not only was it easy to use but very easy to put together
This is a great handy push lawn mower.the blades are sharp. The mower is sturdy I have a couple of spots on my property that my regular lawn mower won’t fit in to. This handy mush lawn mower fits right in and does a great job. This lawn mower is really reasonably priced and it doesn’t take up too much room in my shed. This is my second summer using it and the blades are still sharp and the lawn mower is in excellent condition. I’m a woman in my mid sixties and I have no problem pushing it. If you’re thinking of purchasing this lawn mower don’t hesitate. Its well made and easy to use. Sometimes I take to the cemetery to mower the grass by my loved ones graves.
The American Lawn Push Reel Mower arrived really quick even before the status on the order form was changed to shipped! Because the order still said "processing" I was surprised to see the UPS man on my porch. The mower was easy to assemble the toughest part was putting snapping the "E" rings onto the slotted posts but with a little persistence I was able to do it. I was able to successfully cut the grass. The mower is relatively easy to push, my arms received quite a workout. Because 6 days had passed since my old mower broke our grass was quite high and I was only able to cut the parts that were cut before the old mower died. The rest of the yard had to be mowed by a neighbors riding mower because it was way too long for the push reel to handle. I am really looking forward to being able to maintain our yard with my new push reel lawn mower. My daughter who is really for protecting our environment loves the fact that we can now cut the grass without the toxic fumes created by our old gas mower.
This is a very nice manual mower for the price, and appears well-made. I've only had my mower for a month so I can't speak as to how well it performs over time. The mower is a little heavier than I was expecting, but I'm 125 lbs and have no problem using this mower and maneuvering it around the yard. If you have a small yard and are environmentally-minded as I am, this mower is a good solution to cutting your grass.
I decided to get a reel mower because I have a pretty small lawn, and I always fight with the pull starter. This little mower was very easy for me to put together by myself. It is considerably lighter than my gas mower. You do have to watch a bit if your yard isn't very even. (I managed to cut a small elevated patch down to dirt... oops.) You also need to watch for twigs, even small twigs will stop the reel. On the bright side - it's a reel mower, and stopping to clear stuff out of the blades isn't a big deal. I am happy with my little mower, and glad I purchased it!
easy to assemble and cuts my little yard lin a snap. Sticks and small cypress cones will stop the blade from turning- can't whip through like with a regular mower so the abrupt stopping is a aggravating. Sometimes I have to stop and remove them with my hand which is a pain or sometimes they can be dislodged by pulling the mower backwards. Blade seems very sharp and will be interesting to see how long it cuts and stays so sharp. Doesn't give the yard a sharp "clipped" look- stray blades here and there so if you are OCD, may take you a little longer to cut yard and go back over to get it perfectly even. Lightweight too so easy to store.
We have a small yard and no garage, so we wanted a mower that could be stored inside the house without being messy or smelly. This perfectly fits the bill. If you have a large yard, you may find the narrow width and lack of motor frustrating, but for a small space it's fine- just a bit of a workout. Personally, I think the little bit of extra time and effort involved in mowing with a manual mower is more than made up for by the time, money, and frustration saved by not having to buy gas, keep it charged, watch out for cords, deal with motor problems, or breath fumes. Like most mowers of this style, it won't hit very tall weeds, so you either need to stay on top of lawn care or invest in a weed trimmer as well. Minimal assembly, just attach the handle. Seems very sturdy and we expect it to last. Quite pleased with the value.
Really nice, American-made product. Strong, beefy, and operated beautifully. Easy to assemble. Easy to use. Worked outstanding on our small backyard grass area. Weight is ideal. When using the mower, it feels just right. I made a cut height adjustment and this was quite easy to do. All-in-all this is just a first rate American-made machine.
I am very pleased with this lawn mower. I've used reel mowers for years. Yes, it's my Grandpa's mower, but it is so GREEN. And, I don't wake the neighbors up on an early Saturday morning with the nasty sounds and smells of a gas mower. Plus, there's no kick up of dirt and debris that I always get with an electric or gas mower. This is an extremely light mower; my 80 year old mother and 75 year old neighbor could push it, albeit just for a test drive! I was also pleased the mower could cut through 12" Bermuda grass seed shafts with a couple of passes. This mower is worth the money and the mower of choice for Bermuda grass according to an expert. Thanks Great Offer Stock for offering quality products and extremely reasonable prices!
very affordable, and for the money spent this guy does a great job. Even on my sorry excuse for grass (full of weeds, clover, well-overdue for mowing). It's very easy to push--I've caught my preschooler pushing the thing once or twice when i turned my back (unfortunately), but that goes to show that it's easily manageable. Yet it cuts like a charm.this was also very easy to assemble, even for folks like me who detest reading instruction manuals. For small yards (or even larger lawns, since the pushing isn't onerous), this is a nice, eco-friendly way to go.
I love this little mower! I had my small yard done in less than 15 minutes. It normally took all day just trying to get the gas mower started so this is a HUGE IMPROVEMENT of saving time and frustration on my end. It is also very easy to push!
This lawn mower is easy to put together and cuts quite well. I would recommend this to anyone with a small yard or to someone who doesn't mind being the engine!
This little baby can cut some grass. If you have really tall grass it will be a challenge and if you are plagued by dandelions or other tall weeds you will have to go back with clippers and cut those babies down, but based on the mechanics of this mower you wouldn't expect it to cut anything higher than the blades. It is basically exactly what you would expect from a push mower and we love it!
As a 67 year old Texas grandmother, I love my garden and keeping fit. This lawnmower has been the most fun I have had cutting the grass for years! It is quiet, you actually smell the grass, you get exercise - stronger arms and flatter torso! The neighbors smile as they see me cutting the grass - and the engineer next door is now using a reel mower too and canceled his landscaping contract. I found by using WD-40 prior to cutting, the grass is easier to cut and does not stop as often with sticks or pine cones. So - bottom line with all the noise from landscaping companies, the high monthly costs and no outside exercise - why would you not spend so little for this American made mower and enjoy life so much more?!!
Purchased for my city residence, lawn is small, 20x30, this mower is perfect, cuts evenly and without much effort, highly recommend.
We will be the only ones with a well manicured lawn during the apocalypse
