GE Cafe Series 30-inch Built-in Touch Control Induction Cooktop
The house we built is in a rural area. I didn't want to deal with a large propane tank for gas, but I didn't want high electric bills. That's why I got this induction cooktop. But saving on electric bills is just one of the reasons I love this. It's a dark gray which I like better than solid black because it goes better with my countertops. It's super easy to clean and always looks good. My former gas cooktop was a nightmare to clean and didn't even look that good after I cleaned it. This cooktop has a feature where you can sync two burners together to make one large cooking surface. They even include the griddle-type pan to do it. I thought of it as a gimmick I would never use. Turns out that I love it. I use it to brown large quantities of meat before I put the meat into the crockpot. You could also use it to make something like pancakes. The cooktop brings water to boiling in virtually no time, so I can cook pasta very quickly. Once you take the pot off the burner, the burner shuts off automatically. Also, if you turn down the "heat", it happens instantly. It also has a kitchen timer, which is a nice bonus. I've been using it for about three months now and I couldn't be happier.
