Great find! So versatile! I purchased this mainly for when my number of houseguests is more than my number of beds. It arrived last week in time for a roomful of Super Bowl guests and was very comfy for 2 teens on the floor between the sofa and TV with the 2 long sections extended and the 2 short sections at their backs. I don't expect it to be quite as comfortable when used as a bed, but it should work fine for the pre-teens that visit me. Very well constructed and easy to store, too.

Not good for adult use - ok for under 10. It is very thin and when folded only good for a small child to sit on. When laid out, it does provide a barrier to the cold/hard floor, but we found it took a few tufted mattress pads and blankets to make it thick enough for an adult to sleep on. Camping, kids sleep overs it will work fine. Child (under 10) furniture, ok. But for adult use, I would keep looking. The cost for a "pad" is a bit steep.

Very nice, but... This really is a nice item, an very comfortable. The only issue I have is the representation of the size. I ordered the queen sized, and you'd have to really be generous to call it a queen. It's a bit bigger than a full size, but not by much. That being said, it's comfortable and easy to store and transport. I thought it was worth it.

Ideal for car camping We've only had this for a short time, but so far it's ideal for our purposes! We wanted to have an easy to store solution for sleeping in our crossover vehicle (2016 Mazda CX-9) and the twin XL is the PERFECT fit. When the second and third row seats are folded flat it fits between the wheel wells in the third row and extends all the way to the front captain chairs. Where the backseat is wider we put a firm king size pillow on each side and we can both comfortably fit, laying flat, to sleep. The foam is thick enough that we don't feel the cracks between the seat rows, but thin enough that when it's folded up it fits easily in the trunk space when the back seats are raised. We're looking forward to car camping with this next summer!

No, it's all foam and will expand to it's normal size.

I thought my own mattress was all funky, broken, even, for expansion was uneven and took more than several days. But it did eventually expand to its full dimensions. If you have space under a bed, I suggest unwrapping it NOW and sliding it underneath a bed (full, queen, etc), and leaving it there. Alternatively, stand it up behind a couch, along a wall, behind hanging clothes in a closet. Check it occasionally, if you must, and even 'fluff' it up by jostling it. Just realize that full expansion will take some time. The longer that foam remains compressed, the longer it will take to expand. So, by waiting until May to open it up, you aren't doing yourself any favors. In fact, if you wait until May to unwrap it, you stand a good chance of being extremely disappointed. I highly recommend using the time between now and May to work to your advantage.

a 3.5-inch layer of high-density base foam... Is the base foam memory foam or regular foam? The write up above suggests it is Memory Foam with Gel Memory foam on top. Squeezing the base foam, it pops back fairly quickly, whereas memory foam takes a small bit of time, so my feel says it is regular foam. The base foam does provide support for an adult, my feel says firm regular foam. However, the term "memory foam" means any foam that retains its shape. The base foam does retain it's shape, so does regular foam. Is it comfortable for an adult to sleep on? Does it retain its shape? Yes and yes. Would I add a memory foam topper for next year's visitors, yes.

Side-to-side and lengthwise, standard sheets will fit nicely. However, since this mattress is only 4" thick and fitted sheets are generally designed for much thicker mattresses (up to 17"!), there will necessarily be extra material to tuck underneath. I don't consider this much of a problem, because this item is, after all, a light-duty 'emergency' mattress, an 'extra bed' when one is called for, and one that is folded up for storing away when not needed. If you are looking at this product as a leave-in-place daily-use bed, consider instead getting a thicker (6", 8", 10" or more) non-folding foam mattress.
