Small but mightly...
This countertop appliance is large for a countertop but small for a dishwasher. But, it is the size that is advertised in its listing, so one should not be surprised at how much real estate it takes up. If you are in doubt as to how much space it will take up, get a measuring tape or a ruler and measure its dimensions out on the spot where you will be putting it. Also, once you have put it somewhere, you will probably not be moving it around a lot, it is a bit heavy and so hoisting it up and off of the counter to who knows where will be a chore. This little magic box holds a surprising amount of dishes, given its small size and gets them clean most of the time. We have had very few instances where we had to hand wash something that was washed in this dishwasher and we are not diligent homemakers, our dishes will often sit a while and have dried on food bits by the time they get washed. Not petrified food, but definitely dried. And we only scrape, we do not rinse out dishes before putting them into the dishwasher, otherwise, what is the point of having a dishwasher? This machine is almost too quiet, I have had to check to be certain that it was actually running! The various alarm beeps are well thought out, it does not beep incessantly without reason, like the microwave that will keep beeping if you don't come get your popcorn out soon enough for it's liking. It will warn you that the water is not on for the machine to use and it lets you know when it is done washing. The quick connect attachment for the sink faucet works pretty well, it only leaks a small amount when the dishwasher is not filling and that after a while of the pressure building up. Which is to be expected, but we don't like to set this up to run overnight because of the waste of water that it would cause. We might be able to install the quick connect adapter better to eliminate this problem, but we are not that bothered by the issue yet. This machine will not fit your big roasting pan, but it will hold quite a few dishes and get them clean pretty quickly. I am using this as a substitute for my big dishwasher until I can afford to redo my dilapidated kitchen, but I can see holding on to it to use on those occasions when we have an event that overwhelms the big dishwasher, like Thanksgiving. This would also be a godsend for a busy apartment dweller as this would be perfect for a day's worth of dishes for one or two people. I recommend this machine to anyone who needs either a stop gap solution to a broken kitchen or a renter with a smallish kitchen. It does not quite take the place of a full size dishwasher, but it does a really good job getting what fits in it clean and sparkly and it does the job pretty quickly.
