Different feel to the mitts, more like rubber. Must be some kind of high tech material that is flame proof, otherwise a disaster in the kitchen is near.
Loved the look of this online. Most people use in the kitchen for tea and accessory storage, but I knew right away I wanted to use it for skincare, makeup and brushes! Perfect, though the little drawer is "sticky" I can probably sand it down a bit.
