Mostly held together with cam locks, allowing for disassembly later. Not every cam lock aligned perfectly. But with a little finesse and a hammer we were able to fit all the pieces and now it looks lovely with very little wobble. The wood is sturdy and no blemishes on the paint. The drawer handles are shiny. The play in the joints is probably why this one is on sale, but it didn't affect the end result too much, so I think this was a good deal.
I was so happy to get my blue handled tableware. Over the years I have picked up (@ garage & tag sales) some pieces, but seldom a whole table setting. Now I have and it goes well with my plates, some blues, some white and a set of my Grandmother's Blue Willow. Thank you. Each time I use them, I smile...
I haven't bought new pots in 40 years & decided I needed some non stick variety. I've seen the Anolon on sale at Macys & did buy the 2 pack of fry pans. Since these have performed very well, I thought I would try the pots & pans. I have not been disappointed & have used the pots & pans many times since I've received them. The only "problem" is that because of the high handle on the lids, I cannot stack the pots unless I invert the covers, but they are not stable. I've had to redo my cabinet where I store my pots & pans so everything stores without falling over. Other than that everything else about the pots are fine. Thank you for running the special on the pots at the time you did.
We've been using a hammered stainless pattern by Wallace for a few years and it's still in good shape. However, I've wanted Hammersmith for some time but the Continental size sold out and was discontinued. We like the larger, heavier flatware which is more Euro style. I took a chance and ordered these since Great Offer Stock had a big sale and the price couldn't be beat. Unfortunately, the photo provided does this set no justice whatsoever. I'm happy to say that upon opening the box, this Hammersmith set is very impressive. The quality is far better than the set I mentioned previoiusly. The hammering is also seen on the underside of the handles and it is much more authentic looking than my other set. The design is basically colonial, however, the dinner fork and knife are somewhat oversized, which we like. The detail is remarkable and the weight of the pieces is quite substantial. The hammering catches the light well and adds to a beautiful table setting. A great buy that will not disappoint you.
