I'm always leery of metal bed frames because the quality just isn't there. I've heard this especially with bunk beds. They say always get wood. The reviews got me on this one. I wanted my daughter to have a nice frame and we decided this would be cute with any curtains or whatever she wanted! Assembly was easy and took a while but it wasn't super hard. She's 9 and we did it together so you don't even need 2 adults. I think it would be very difficult to do it alone though. I was nervous about her memory foam bed and not having a box spring or bunkie board or something underneath to support it because the metal poles don't look like they would but somehow it does! We still haven't picked curtains yet but they can easily be changed out or removed to clean, you just unscrew the four bed knobs and the bars at the top can be removed. You can even remove them altogether if you don't want a canopy. This was especially appealing because her bedroom has the slanted ceilings so we weren't even sure this would work in there and wanted another option. Luckily it did work with the canopy! It's also nice to know that as she gets older and if she changes her mind or finds it childish we can remove the canopy and she has a whole new style! Very happy with the purchase and the price was good. A similar bed would have cost double or triple at a furniture store and might not be as well made!
