As I start to piece together the eating area, I found this charmer and am super pleased! We're not a formal household, and I've not considered myself one to go for the typical 'bling'. But, I took the leap and found this to be just the right mix of casual and sparkle for our space. The antique bronze color is as reflected in pictures, and I'm a fan of the shadow casting it makes in the room when lit. Adding the crystals was no problem as there is space to slide hand under the metal dome and hook each string. Be sure to set aside the extra replacement pieces (few crystals, connectors, & hangers) included in the packaging. They may be handy should anything get damaged over the years! We have low 8' ceilings; and one rod w/the fixture drops 40" (plus the little extending crystals), so because of the height of our table, the fixture is a bit closer (25") than the desired 30-32". So, we'll likely cut the rod and tap a new tread to raise it a tad. Finally, while the crystals help defuse the light of the three 40 watt bulbs, I think we'll drop the wattage down a bit. Installation is where a rating star was removed because the instructions just weren't very helpful. A tip for sliding the wires thru the rod: unscrew the threaded tips from each rod, twist the wires together and slide thru the cone cap, then one threaded piece, then the rod, then the second threaded piece (repeat if using both rods). Then, screw the threaded pieces back into the rod and separate the wires for connecting to the junction box. A great addition to the room!
Absolutely gorgeous!! I wanted a touch of bling for my new house. Used this in the foyer and love it! Although it was supposed to be suspended on one or two rods that came with it, my electrician mounted it flush to the ceiling because it was large and would have been too low for the front door. He used a conversion kit to replace a recessed light and put it on its own switch. I don't think that was a do it yourself project, but that's what electricians are for! Attaching the crystals wasn't too bad - maybe 30 minutes - you need small hands to do it. I added a small brown medallion for the final look. Love love love it!
First of all, it was less expensive here than at another website. It arrived quickly and well packaged. It is beautiful! The "bling" creates lovely designs on the wall when the light is on. And it adds an unusual touch to a small And traditional space. It's my favorite part of the house now!
I bought two of these to go over my kitchen island. They are absolutely gorgeous. The light is quite bright since it's three bulbs, but the crystals allow a nice filter for the light to shine through. They're also huge. The picture should have something to scale. I knew from the previous reviews to expect it to be large, but it still blew my mind. It was actually a welcome surprise since they fill up our space perfectly. -It comes with two rods, so you can adjust the height to be short or long. -The instructions are completely useless. So common sense is a requirement. -The setup is time consuming. It comes with the strands of crystal detached. You'll need some serious patience hooking those on. -If you're installing yourself, the wires have to go through the rod- and that's literally the hardest part. It took 2 hours to get one done. There's something inside the rod that snags the wires and it took some creativity to feed them through. I can't imagine how hard it would be with two rods. Overall, the price is great for these lights. The quality is not perfect, there were little scratches in the paint. But you really don't notice that stuff after the light is up. I look forward to enjoying these lights for a long time.
This lamp replaced a $350 fixture and this one looks far more expensive. The hanging beads were super simple and quick to attach. I would highly recommend this beauty. The light it casts onto our foyer walls is so pretty.
Gorgeous lights that are perfect over my 7 foot island! They are a beautiful antique bronze and have just the right amount of bling with the hanging crystals.
The Kate crystal chandelier surprised me. I wanted something smaller in the entry that would put out more light than the current fixture. The Kate Crystal chandelier met my expectations and exceeded them. There is a certain understated beauty in this light fixture. I would recommend it to a friend.
It was not bronze it was black
What I liked about this light the most was the contrast between the simple metal design with the bling of the crystals! When I opened the box I immediately saw the exceptional quality. It is so well made and the crystals seem authentic. The only issue we ran into was I wanted it for a bedroom and the rods were too long. It would look better in a foyer or over a dining room table. So I cut the rod, used a tap to create threads and ta da...looks great in a bedroom! Don't hesitate to buy this light! It's gorgeous!
I bought this to replace the builder grade (ugly) light fixture for my foyer. Foyers are really important in my little design mind as they are generally the first thing people see when they walk in your home and they set the tone for the rest of the space. My foyer now welcomes with elegance, sophistication and just the right amount of bling. It's relatively light weight but does not seem flimsy or cheaply made. This is a more modern fixture but not so modern that it does not blend well with the more traditional fixtures that may already be established in the space. I had my electrician install it and the only problem we (he) had was trying to reach my very high ceilings. The crystals didn't take that long to attach if you get a good rhythm and method for doing so. It took me about 15 minutes and the shade is large enough to stick your hand through the bottom in order to attach the crystals quickly. As other reviewers have said, the fixture is quite large-I encourage checking the dimensions and actually using a measuring tape to get a more accurate idea about the size of this large pendant. Not sure if I'd want something this large hanging over my kitchen island. It would overwhelm and be out of scale--IMHO. Shipment and delivery were beyond fast. I think I ordered this on a Monday and it was on my door by Wednesday, early afternoon. I had no issues with packing or damage. In short, the Katniss pendant is perfect and for the price point an entirely doable way to set a new tone for the entire look of your home.
Love this chandelier! Its beautiful and the dangling crystals finish off the chandelier perfectly!
The Kate Crystal Chandelier was an amazing purchase. It is both funky and elegant. It is a deconstructed chandelier with the globe made of wires surrounding a column of crystal beads. Visually it takes little space but when lit in the evening, it lights up the dining room with a beautiful reflection of light bouncing off the crystals. It is a conversation piece... love it!
Ordered a bronze chandelier and received a black one, TWICE. I gave up and kept it. Obviously, the manufacturer can't tell the difference between bronze and black.
I am so happy with this purchase. It has changed the entire look of my hall/entry. It gives off amazing light and the light filters so beautifully on the walls. I originally used 60 watts bulbs but found that it was too bright and had to change the bulbs to 40 watts. Attaching the chrystal strings were tedious but SO WORTH IT! I would highly recommend this light!
This light fixture is easy to assemble and hang. Once hung, stand back and enjoy the view. It casts beautiful crystal bead lights all over the walls and ceiling! This is the 2nd house I have used this fixture.
These lights are gorgeous!!! Not too large for over the island as you can see in my kitchen. They are fairly easy to assemble and hanging the crystals was fun with a glass of wine! I especially love that you don't see any wires or ugly chain. They are so elegant and great quality.
I bought this piece because of its metal handle versus a string or chain and it looks beautiful with the crystal strands at night. There are approximately twenty plus strands that may be acrylic but it does not look cheap when installed. It gives a beautiful glow at night so if you are looking for a sharp light this is not it, definitely best serve where subtle light is required such as the bedroom or hallways. I'm thinking of purchasing another one to add to my closet and in a semi-flush mount installation. The light bulbs are a chandelier style so you can use a soft or crystal light bulb depending on need and the room.
This chandelier is the perfect size for my 42" antique dark oak dining table. The design updates the look from country to contemporary
I left the crystal ropes off and use it in the foyer with Alma 9 Light chandelier. It is a bird cage look and this fixture went well with it.
This is a stunning light fixture and I love the crystal accents. I would recommend to a friend.
