The color is a little darker then what is shown in the photo but still is very pleasing. Overall construction is nice and well built for a piece of furniture in this price range. all four electric recliners work well and it's extremely nice to recline in a position of your choice. Overall comfort is good. The cushions aren't aren't too soft or too hard. Laying across the couch can be done but due to how the cushions are made, they may not be the most comfortable. The one thing I wish it had was a little more lower back support and that the arm rests were a little more firm and taller (arm rests are basically pillows). Just a word of caution, I don't know if the recliner motors have safety stop where if something would get caught under the recliner if the motor would disengage. So if you do have pets or small children, there is a possibility that serious harm can be done if the recliner was trying to be retracted.
