Very happy with our table although it took two months to deliver. Top is beautiful wood grain. Bottom is dark wood (not black) as I imagined it would be. It wasn't difficult to put together. My husband did it in about 40 minutes (he is 75). The mechanism for the leaf works well. Had some difficulty with the latches holding it in place when leaf is secured but that is minor. Purchased 4 leather parsons chairs to go with it. Just the right size for our space. Might be a little small for a large family (it will be tight for 6 even with the leaf). Really attractive and very sophisticated looking. Happy with our purchase.

I have no idea how this table has good reviews. It is very beautiful but between the top of the chair and the underside of the table there is only 3.25" of room for your legs! I am 5'3" and 120lbs and found it impossible to sit comfortably under the table. The chairs arrived first (about two weeks before the table) they were heavy and well made. They took awhile to assemble, then unassembled since we sent the set back. See the attached photo, this is a 6" ruler. This ordeal was quite a hassle and very disappointing!

I purchased the table and 4 matching chairs. Very pleased. The table assembly was very easy. No problem encountered with putting it together. I would recommend this table to a friend

I purchased the 48" table for my kitchen for family dinners - when I can actually wrangle my family together. It stays at its 48" size 90% of the time, but I chose it because it gives me the ability to extend it out to 60" [as an oval] for 6 people should my mom and dad join us on a weeknight. I recommend purchasing the Signature Design by Ashley Mestler Dining Room Side Chairs as a nice choice to complement this table. I ordered 6 in Antique Blue and I get lots of compliments on this handsome pairing. The table is sturdy and I do use it as a desk top often as well as a stable spot to work on my Mac Pro laptop. I am 5'7" and I can cross my legs very comfortably under the table as well. When it is at its 48" size, it is very, very stable. When it is extended to 60", it is a bit wobbly. I really only notice this when my 20 year-old son uses poor manners and rests his elbows on the table when he is eating. He is 6' tall and is a hefty young man. I feel that if you have better mannered men, you will probably not experience this problem.

Just what we were looking for. Very difficult to find a 42" table with a leaf. This table is extremely well made and the nesting leaf works perfectly. I would have given 5 stars except it's not as stable as the non-leaf table it replaced. I would buy again and recommend it for anyone that needs a smaller quality table. The top is solid wood as near as I can tell.

The table arrived in good shape and was quite easy to put together with good instructions. It is solid and has a very nice finish as shown in the picture.
